  • Sounds great, but obviously we hear digital version because of YouTube's audio encoding, don't we?

  • She is talented indeed; but this is some fantastic camera work and editing too! Man... this is the good stuff.

  • AWESOME!!!!! she was such a talented soul!!! Thanks for this!

  • Uhhh :) I'm actually in full agreement it sounds great (except for how it abruptly ends before the final fade..otherwise it's purrr-fect) BUT hmmm...since this IS such a Beautiful full-GOSPEL song, we might think about 'Ummin n Thummin' Up (so to speak ;) a top comment that *shouldn't* have an F-word in it...just sayin', y'know? ;D

Great song! Very cool turntable! Thanks for the upload!!!

  • This sounds better on YouTube than on my stereo. Good job. Good turntable. Thanks for posting.

  • What is your rig, Dude? Where did you get that TRE COOL Record Clamp? My rig is serviceable. Systemdek IIX with Mitchell Gyro-mat/Gyro-clamp with a highly modified Linn Basik+ arm silver litz cabling and internal strenghtening (Shoulda held out for the Rega RB300) and a Sumiko BPS which is nice but souless. Don't laugh, but I perfer my Denon DL160 over it (the Denon has a w-i-d-e Soundstage).

  • @Armydicked why dont they record pop or rock mainstream records like this, considering for most popular bands they have unlimted production budgets.

  • Just awesome!!

  • wow!! welcome to perfect !

  • i LOVE this song, i have been brought up with her cd on since i was young, i went to tribute for her, i was the only young one there (except my twin friends!). it was great!!! <3 x

  • holy crap what kind of turntable is that looks awesome.

  • THIS IS GOOD!

  • Im a young teen who listens to ALOT of hip-hop and rap and has pretty much grown up with newschool music. But i still love old songs like this<3

  • I love Conrad Johnson. And Clearaudio.

  • I love Conrad Johnson.

  • What a sound! Great!!! Is this all because of the vinyl?

  • qualidade do som e excelente, so fiquei curioso em saber quais caixas des om e aparelhos as empurram....

  • Conrad....this is an epic, thank you.

  • amazing looking turntable!

even on mute the sound sounds great !

    Majestic, relaxing :D

  • Музыка класс!

  • @BradleyDPayne Exactly. Digital is admittedly convenient, yet does not have the ambience of analogue. Light travelling through a film emulsion has physical properties which are more sympathetic to the senses.

  • @letsif but the audio that you're hearing here on youtube has been converted to digital, no?

  • @daveheel

Yes, your question has occurred to me, but I can still hear the difference, so the superior warmth of vinyl is apparent here. No?

  • what turntable and arm is that ?

  • I like the quality of sound. I also like the song itself. But I absolutely don't like the performance of singer. It is not supposed to be sung in blues way dear!

  • @craneywatch it's a gospel song

so why don't you don't let her sing it more gospel-like if she wants to?

    eva's performence is simply outstanding!

  • @Individuell83 I actually didn't write that her performance was bad. On the contrary, it was really good. But I found Eva's performance more like blues not so much as gospel.

  • @craneywatch however I really like it

in my view definitly one of her best

this is an OTHER side of her... that shows she could also sing more churchy

and don't forget this is originally a gospel song

  • @Individuell83 Exactly, this is gospel song.

  • @craneywatch Are you kidding me?!

  • @MsTherese21 Ok ok, you most probably wrote my first review where I showed my disliking to the way the song was sung. I don't think like that anymore. I start liking this particular woman performance more and more.

  • Eva's rendition of this song is perfection. End of story.

  • cristo que bien suena

  • Pictures of the rest of your setup please...

  • vinyl lp <33

  • great version cheers 4 post

  • I love this music. Also Transrotor, I have one.

  • I have heard many vinyl record but Eva's "songbird" 180g sound better than anyone of them. It is one of the best recording vinyl ever.

  • audiophiles know best ;)

  • I get goosebumps every time I listen to this and the horn kicks in. That's how it's supposed to be.

  • Wonderful......

  • Hi Mr. CJ,

I seriously think that you should keep posting videos like this. Your recording technique is absolutely fantastic.

  • I never seen anything more beautiful than this turntable, and boy does it sound great or what(even on youtube). Lucky you man. Great song by the way.

  • becausesoundmatters [dot ] com

    Vinyl!!

  • amazing turntable! just a few questions, where'd ya buy it? how much? whats a kick ass needle to buy? and what do you do if your vinyl cases are subpar or ripped at the seems etc? is there cases to replace the sleeves but with the covers still? please help me out. considering vinyl but these things are holding me back. that and money. Also i have tons of music that is not on vinyl including local bands, stuff thats out of print etc. I'd love to get em pressed to vinyl possibly too. ty

  • Sounds amazing even after all the compression.

  • nice music and turntable...

  • When CD was introduce back in the 80's i heard that CDs has much better sound than vinyl i said to my self hows that even possible todays music sounds great already. The first time i heard a CD i was not blown away by any means, nothing special. They made a big deal out of nothing.

  • fuck....what a turntable!!!!!!

  • Wow!! Thanks Mr Jonson. Appreciate ya, God bless you.

  • Because Mr. ConradJonson and your sound is wonderful, I have mimicked it.

    I'm sorry.

The vinyl record was purposely obtained from the shop in Michigan for that.

  • This is beautiful! I'm in love!

  • Wow very nice system and very clear sounds like a silk A+

  • I come back to this video from time to time... Not sure If I have left a comment in the past but I am doing it now. This song is great! Video is great as well! Thanks for posting.

  • Nice System! However, the comments are all silly and hypocritical. Everyone here is bashing compressed audio but then saying the youtube COMPRESSED audio here is amazing just because its compressed from an analogue device. Conrad should take a hint and record compressed files from his LP's and sell them. Hit me up, Conrad, when you upload some lossless music files from your amazing system. :)

  • OMG! This is the superb system. I wish I could have one like that!

  • omggosh, this is so incredible! that record player is so cool too!

  • Excellent recording! Never got rid of my records of TT. What a pue version of a phenomenal song. God, Eva is good!

  • I wish you would play the whole side. This is nice.

  • WOW, Put a couple of Martin logans at the end of that system and you would have perfection. With her voice, that band, nothing more to say. Just awesome.

  • nice turntable

  • Excellent! What A/D was used for this?

  • great song, thanks i am subscribing

  • yes that's true but the thing that's even more sad than that is that people spend hundreds of dollars a year to download the albums from the internet in low mp3 quality without any sleeve or cover or medium on that the album is on...

and the musicindustry and only laughs hardly how dumb people are that they download this stuff in such a low quality...

  • I know!!! It's a land slide for the music industry. It's kind of like McDonald selling you a Big Mac for the same price but not having to give you the box, ketchup, or a bag. Instead you go home and download a "Big Mac". ..and one with a poorer taste then the one you use to get (ie vinyl) lol.

Now people...don't make stupid responses here. You get my point of why the music industry would push downloads.

  • @mrhoffame

    lol that's true

    a nice comparison :D

  • FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That LP is AMAZING!

I bought a Music HAll 5.1 and a phono preamp just because of this song. Did not regret it.

  • Just got a new music Hall 2.2 myself!! Just this past weekend. And you are right WORTH EVERY DIME and I can't believe I waited so long to do so!

  • I don't think they recorded it in a digital way

it's an analog audiophile pressing and I really don't believe that they produced the record in a digital way

  • for all who still don't believe that it was completely mastered in an analoge way here is the information:

Remastered on Steve Hoffman's vintage vacuum tube playback system. Plating of the laquers is done the same day as cutting, using a slow low-temperature bath to minimize groove echo and loss of high frequency information. The result is the best sounding series of LPs in history.

  • Made with only the purest virgin vinyl on HQ 180+ process a thick, super flat, extra heavy virgin vinyl disc of unmatched sound quality. Manufactured at World famous RTI Audiophile pressing plant.

and for those who still don't want to believe check out steve hoffman's homepage he has an articel about this album and others he said the only step that made this album digital was putting it on a cd (and here on youtube) but the LP is completely analog mastered

  • hi, ask: a disc clamp is is good for all turntables ?

  • you mean the clamp which press the record on the turn table?

well you can used them if your record player has direct drive or maybe Idler-wheel drive but I wouldn't use it on a belt drive turntable because they don't have that much power and the weight of the clamp would slow it down

  • TURNTABLE IS BRAND ????? a transtor???? how much?????

  • There is vinyl and there is VINYL++. This the best i've ever heard.

  • Wow, I just listened to 2 Eva Cassidy youtube vids and both are some of the best sound quality I heard in a long time, of any source LOL.. Beauty of a table there. I used to have a Conrad Johnson MV50 with modded to use KT90s powering Apogee Stages.

  • Ok I am listening through vintage Sennheiser HD 420 headphones... in HQ mode of course.. WoW!!! Even over the internet vinyl beats CD's ... how pathetic they are!! True, that end user CD iPod (with their inadequete sampling rates, and overworked DA converters) can not compare.. only SACD can come as close to the source master tape as this!!!!! Anybody who craves high fidelity, this is the way to go. Five stars!!!!!

  • Theres not matter how headphones do you have here :-)) . No digital standard is too good to store clear analog sound

  • ipods are Shite

  • your grandfather has better hearing than you do.

  • cd hype has been exposed. Vinyl reigns!

  • Sounds soo much better than CD even through youtube with my Marantz 2265B (Coupled with an Xonar D2X) :)

  • i agree that Vinyl sounds better than CD, but what you hear is the original track, not recorded from speakers (otherwise there would be no stereo imaging and you would hear added room acoustics and compression)

  • Super, bravo!

  • Can't figure out if you're showing off your wonderful turntable or promoting Eva!? Perhaps a little of both?

  • Is it really an audiocapture from the video or have you put in the sound above the video?

  • Check the name of your own system. I think that's exactly what he uses.

  • pure bliss listening to vinyl. all you need is a nice glass of red, feet up by an open fire place. what more can one need?

  • bravo

  • Put &fmt=18 in the end of the URL to this video and hear it in stereo, which of course makes it better since this was recorded with stereo enhancement.

I love this song, it makes me feel all warm and cosy inside and it doesn't make it worse when it's presented with this kind of clarity (even through youtube). Thanks :)

  • .nice rig

  • SUMIKO is the manufacturer.

  • The cartridge is a Back Bird feeding a Conrad Johnson vacuum tube system.

  • thats a sweet ass turntable where can find one and how much are they

  • The TT is no longer imported due to Euro/Dllr currency fluctuations. You can order directly from TransRotor in Germany. Price is negotiable.

  • US distributor is Axiss Audio. You can not buy directely from Transrotor.

  • Right, I meant Transrotor dealers.

  • SUPER MORCEAUX !!!!!!!

    MERCI

  • That is a lovely 'table. Could you tell me about it? Hard for me to tell - Looks like a modified Rega arm? Long live vinyl!

  • You are correct, that arm is a modified Rega on a TransRotor turntable.
