Uhhh :) I'm actually in full agreement it sounds great (except for how it abruptly ends before the final fade..otherwise it's purrr-fect) BUT hmmm...since this IS such a Beautiful full-GOSPEL song, we might think about 'Ummin n Thummin' Up (so to speak ;) a top comment that *shouldn't* have an F-word in it...just sayin', y'know? ;D
Great song! Very cool turntable! Thanks for the upload!!!
What is your rig, Dude? Where did you get that TRE COOL Record Clamp? My rig is serviceable. Systemdek IIX with Mitchell Gyro-mat/Gyro-clamp with a highly modified Linn Basik+ arm silver litz cabling and internal strenghtening (Shoulda held out for the Rega RB300) and a Sumiko BPS which is nice but souless. Don't laugh, but I perfer my Denon DL160 over it (the Denon has a w-i-d-e Soundstage).
i LOVE this song, i have been brought up with her cd on since i was young, i went to tribute for her, i was the only young one there (except my twin friends!). it was great!!! <3 x
@BradleyDPayne Exactly. Digital is admittedly convenient, yet does not have the ambience of analogue. Light travelling through a film emulsion has physical properties which are more sympathetic to the senses.
I like the quality of sound. I also like the song itself. But I absolutely don't like the performance of singer. It is not supposed to be sung in blues way dear!
@Individuell83 I actually didn't write that her performance was bad. On the contrary, it was really good. But I found Eva's performance more like blues not so much as gospel.
@MsTherese21 Ok ok, you most probably wrote my first review where I showed my disliking to the way the song was sung. I don't think like that anymore. I start liking this particular woman performance more and more.
amazing turntable! just a few questions, where'd ya buy it? how much? whats a kick ass needle to buy? and what do you do if your vinyl cases are subpar or ripped at the seems etc? is there cases to replace the sleeves but with the covers still? please help me out. considering vinyl but these things are holding me back. that and money. Also i have tons of music that is not on vinyl including local bands, stuff thats out of print etc. I'd love to get em pressed to vinyl possibly too. ty
When CD was introduce back in the 80's i heard that CDs has much better sound than vinyl i said to my self hows that even possible todays music sounds great already. The first time i heard a CD i was not blown away by any means, nothing special. They made a big deal out of nothing.
I come back to this video from time to time... Not sure If I have left a comment in the past but I am doing it now. This song is great! Video is great as well! Thanks for posting.
Nice System! However, the comments are all silly and hypocritical. Everyone here is bashing compressed audio but then saying the youtube COMPRESSED audio here is amazing just because its compressed from an analogue device. Conrad should take a hint and record compressed files from his LP's and sell them. Hit me up, Conrad, when you upload some lossless music files from your amazing system. :)
WOW, Put a couple of Martin logans at the end of that system and you would have perfection. With her voice, that band, nothing more to say. Just awesome.
yes that's true but the thing that's even more sad than that is that people spend hundreds of dollars a year to download the albums from the internet in low mp3 quality without any sleeve or cover or medium on that the album is on...
and the musicindustry and only laughs hardly how dumb people are that they download this stuff in such a low quality...
I know!!! It's a land slide for the music industry. It's kind of like McDonald selling you a Big Mac for the same price but not having to give you the box, ketchup, or a bag. Instead you go home and download a "Big Mac". ..and one with a poorer taste then the one you use to get (ie vinyl) lol.
Now people...don't make stupid responses here. You get my point of why the music industry would push downloads.
for all who still don't believe that it was completely mastered in an analoge way here is the information:
Remastered on Steve Hoffman's vintage vacuum tube playback system. Plating of the laquers is done the same day as cutting, using a slow low-temperature bath to minimize groove echo and loss of high frequency information. The result is the best sounding series of LPs in history.
Made with only the purest virgin vinyl on HQ 180+ process a thick, super flat, extra heavy virgin vinyl disc of unmatched sound quality. Manufactured at World famous RTI Audiophile pressing plant.
and for those who still don't want to believe check out steve hoffman's homepage he has an articel about this album and others he said the only step that made this album digital was putting it on a cd (and here on youtube) but the LP is completely analog mastered
you mean the clamp which press the record on the turn table?
well you can used them if your record player has direct drive or maybe Idler-wheel drive but I wouldn't use it on a belt drive turntable because they don't have that much power and the weight of the clamp would slow it down
Wow, I just listened to 2 Eva Cassidy youtube vids and both are some of the best sound quality I heard in a long time, of any source LOL.. Beauty of a table there. I used to have a Conrad Johnson MV50 with modded to use KT90s powering Apogee Stages.
Ok I am listening through vintage Sennheiser HD 420 headphones... in HQ mode of course.. WoW!!! Even over the internet vinyl beats CD's ... how pathetic they are!! True, that end user CD iPod (with their inadequete sampling rates, and overworked DA converters) can not compare.. only SACD can come as close to the source master tape as this!!!!! Anybody who craves high fidelity, this is the way to go. Five stars!!!!!
i agree that Vinyl sounds better than CD, but what you hear is the original track, not recorded from speakers (otherwise there would be no stereo imaging and you would hear added room acoustics and compression)
Put &fmt=18 in the end of the URL to this video and hear it in stereo, which of course makes it better since this was recorded with stereo enhancement.
I love this song, it makes me feel all warm and cosy inside and it doesn't make it worse when it's presented with this kind of clarity (even through youtube). Thanks :)
Sounds great, but obviously we hear digital version because of YouTube's audio encoding, don't we?
