Apple iPad: Connecting a Bluetooth Keyboard

But you CAN show virtual keyboard even when paired with bluetooth keyboard. I use standard Apple bluetooth keyboard and I press "eject" button (top right) to bring virtual keyboard. I am not sure how to emulate "eject" key with PC keyboard, did you try F12 or other function keys?

LOL I had to laugh when I found out you had to jailbreak your ipad to connect a bluetooth mouse, let me get this right Steve Jobs says that an imac touch screen wouldn't work since people would find it uncomfortable. Right so they launch a dockpad keyboard for your ipad, so you dock your ipad & have a keyboard but wait you have to raise your hand to touch the screen. The Logic of apple is beyond me.

Steve if you release the IMAC touch it doesn't mean remove mouse input support !

I have the Logitech 550 Wave and my iPad will not discover it at all. Any ideas? There isn't a whole lot online about this outside of the cases designed for iPads. I suppose most people are using apple keyboards.

I know this keyboard all too well. I helped out with computers at my school last summer and I had to unbox about 40 if these for teachers. Unboxings are only fun to some extent.

@SuperNKNS Yes, it will connect to your MacBook but there isn't much that can be done between the two devices. They wont' sync, share files, internet, etc...

@danhellerjr You can disconnect the Logitech keyboard by pressing the red "Connect" key. I'm sure other bluetooth keyboards will work the same. Most bluetooth keyboards don't seem to have a simple 'off' button however.

@DetroitBORG "Most" Bluetooth keyboards don't have an on/off switch or button?? What kind of battery operated device doesn't have an on/off switch?? I DO believe you but I just think that fact is terribly stupid. I have an Apple bluetooth keyboard and I just hold down the power button for 2 seconds to turn it OFF. I wouldn't buy ANY battery operated device that I couldn't turn off when I wanted to.

@danhellerjr There are surprisingly view bluetooth keyboard options to begin with, but I'm just amazed so few of them have a simple on-off switch. Even the Apple keyboard can be turned off, not even the Apple TV has a power button ;).
