E.L.P stole the show at cal jam 1...but deep purple did kick ass...i have both concerts and saw it many times as a teen. come taste the band had some good tunes on it...this being the best...no disrespect to tommy bolin, may he r.i.p...but...deep purple is not deep purple w/out richie blackmore...end of story.
@vistvan62 Its from the Come Taste The Band album that released in 1975's end.Tommy Bolin plays the lead guitars...
A 75-ben megjelent Come Taste The Band-en van amin Tommy Bolin gitározik aki Blackmore váltotta miután kilépett, ez a lemez az utolsó stúdió lemezük a 70-es évekből...
This was havin fun, kick ass, hard Rockin music of the 70's. It was a great time in Rock Music. Thank god we have YouTube so the younger generation can actually see that there was a time when Rock music kicked ass and was played hard. Hopefully more of them will come to appreciate it and keep it alive. Check out D Purple California Jam '74, they stole the show. Long live Deep Purple and Rock n Roll.....
@MegaBob77777 at the age of 23, I'm definitely one of that "younger generation" - definitely appreciate this! There's little around today that comes anywhere near Deep Purple (particularly Mks III and IV) or Black Sabbath!
YEAH! Good man. We old codgers are glad you understand. You would have loved life and rock music in the 70s. Avoid much of what you see and hear today a all costs. No instruments, no substance.
Kevin "Caveman" Shirley is a FREAKIN' GENIUS! This sounds brilliant! I miss Tommy Bolin. God I wish he were here to contribute to Black Country Communion. Could you imagine??? Awesome video. Thanks.
Rock and roll DP style. Coverdale talks on coming back to rock after the experiment with soul in Stormbringer album. Brigitte BardoT on stage with Lucille.
My opinion only: I saw DP twice, once w Ritchie '73,once w Tommy '75. Tommy was a far better showman and group player.Ritchie was all about HIM. He stayed to himself, no interaction w audience or other bandmates. Was kinda weird really. Other than original lineup, I think this is the greatest DP band there ever was, no comparison. Just 5 guys kickin ass, rockin hard, and playin loud. That was the 70's and that was deep purple. Epic and Timeless, pure, raw, Rock n Roll!!
Awesome vid! What I loved about Bolin is that he really got into it, moving about the stage and singing back ups, where blackmore kinda just was in his own little zone, not disrespect, I love em both
F**king great job, dude! That´s some really nice footage.....and great videoclip! It´s sad that Bolin had to die that soon....if Deep Purple wouldn´t have quit, it would have been interesting how this band would have developed with that line-up!
Grat Vid!!! Not much footage of Tommy Bolin with Deep Purple... Love this stuff but get alot of s**t from others about this line-up being inferior.....They are the ones who are inferior and wouldn't know great music if it hit 'em upside the head!!! Rock on & R.I.P. Tommy Bolin
Don't get me wrong, deep purple is gillan/blackmore to me........but this.........is Deep Purple, awesome final album for the coverdale era, awesome video too
this is a great piece of work, my friend - DP mark IV is pretty underestimated because of the terrible "last concert in japan"-album that never should have been released...
Wish every song on this album had been as rockin' as this one.Love this, and cool footage to go with it! Got goose bumps.Neat to hear the extra Bolin bits added to this version.
Am I the only one who thinks the remix sounds like someone loaded the songs up in Sound Forge, selected Reverb & Compress (default settings), saved it and then went to the pub?
@DCHurlford1 Absolute I am. I thought Roger Glover's remixes were actually really good. On one hand they presented the old style sound of the original, and then in the remixes he's captured the "this is how it would sound if you were here" feel, and gotten it right without it sounding like a quick and dirty reverb job.
Cheers for posting. Come Taste got panned a bit back in the day but it ain't all that bad an album in retrospect. Excellent sound quality on this new remix, hopefully the normal album remaster is just as good. Purchased the original cd issue back in the late 90's but i'll uprgade at some point as i do have all the other DP remasters. May'be wait a wee while though as £11.99 is a tad steep for an album that is nearly as old as me, ha ha.
This just plain fucking rocks! I love Blackmore but he is not DEEP PURPLE as proof on this classic album

@azkatro Why? Too less dedication in your opinion? I would agree that they put a lot of more vocals volume on the tune.

@azkatro What did you make of the Machine Head remixes (assuming your a fan of the MK 2 lineup as well!?)
I thought they were brill, think they were done by Roger Glover. Having said that i can't claim to be any kind of expert on sound technology.
Regards. David.
