@haverty, what wasn't invented yet was a pitch shifter that could do this, they did the last part, which wasn't even the part I was talking about, by slowing down tape in the studio. How this guitar teacher does it today doesn't have any bearing.

nice tapping portion, clean up the ending.
and the "dive bomb" effect is actually a delay pedal, and he takes the time and slows it down to lower the pitch.
