The tank careened down an embankment, rolled on it's side then skid 300 feet and struck an oak tree. Damages were scratches to the side and the bumper was CRACKED in two! The bumper was repaired! No charges were filed - my dad was a cop.

@454streetracer That's a conclusion I've made too. A crash that totals today's cars would do at most moderate sheet metal damage on a car like the 67 Impala I had as a teen/early 20's. No chassis damage and the wheels wouldn't be torn off!

In any case, I got to drive myself home, and I got to drive my suburban back home, with just scratches on the bumper. The guy was going 110 and I was going 50. Imagine the crash impact

He was not wearing a seatbelt. 42 yrs old, perfectly fit and perfectly healthy, what a shame..... Don't worry, it won't happen to you.

But to answer your question the best way i can, from what I understand since they are drunk, then they are totaly relaxed and pretty much dont give a shit either way. by them being relaxed and carefree when in an accident their body is more resilient to damages. now the family of 5 are sober and tense up during an accident and making it more difficult for the body to take damage. will elaborate more if u need.

I honestly believe that if the companies making them were willing to spend a little more to make them tougher then a can on wheels, even drunk driving wouldn't be a big problem.
Driving is dangerous, no matter what. Drunk or not. Cars simply aren't safe, and I think that should be fixed.

@DROPilot My only brother and sibling was killed in a one vehicle crash on 5-1-2010. He had worked all day, and then went out with co-workers and had too much to drink. Lack of sleep and alcohol caused him to fall asleep and he hit a raised driveway causing the van to flip end over end, he was thrown out the rear window. He drowned to death in his own blood. He was not wearing a seatbelt. 42 yrs old, perfectly fit and perfectly healthy, what a shame..... Don't worry, it won't happen to you.

i think its cause when your more limber the viberations from the impact spread out more and cause less damage while when your are stiff the impact vibrations stay in one spot. or something like tht. i learned it from manswers:)

But to answer your question the best way i can, from what I understand since they are drunk, then they are totaly relaxed and pretty much dont give a shit either way. by them being relaxed and carefree when in an accident their body is more resilient to damages. now the family of 5 are sober and tense up during an accident and making it more difficult for the body to take damage. will elaborate more if u need.

Here's a statistic do you know how many accidents are caused by drunk drivers? maybe 8% what about cell phones, drug impairment, speeding ,stolen vehicles,driving without permit etc. I am not condoning drinking and driving, but it's focused on the most withour paying attention to the statistics of other reasonings
