Amen to that. George Schwartz is a sensible man. I'm buying into Ave Maria, now that the Son of God and His glorious mother, the Queen of Heaven, are saving us from hyperinflation. As it is Sunday, I'm grabbing my rosary beads and am heading off to Mass - for the first time since my mother's funeral - to give thanks and praise.
@kroovyandcal they are not flooding the market with the money . the banks are lending to them selves so they can make imaginary money through intrest each to each other. once they get enought they will dump the money to cause inflation in turn devaluing there own depts of credit to other banks (having them selves already got out and invested in real values. like commodities metal gold silver housing sustainable firms , agro land , farming etc etc)
Definitely pay attention. This threat of deflation is temporary. When the economy stabilizes further you will start seeing all that sidelined money move back into the system.
I would be considering going long gold or silver right now
Inflation, yes. Even this past week the rise in the minimum wage will cause price of goods to rise(or increase unemployment as employers lay off people they cannot afford to pay.)
Ty I did not know about the GDX. I am invested in a mutual fund and realized the 40% appreciation over the last 7 months, while GLD stagnated.
I am no expert, but I beleived somebody who told me that even though gold "STocks" went down with the general market, the difference between price of gold and gold stocks would shrink. Either GLD would go down or GDX would go up. Anyway, thx for the GDX info.

okay. so that sounds like a consolidation of the banks and of power. there are banks that will go under from that scheme, making more of an oligopoly

What about Gold Stocks - like Gold Stock mutual funds, like US FUNDS WORLD PRECIOUS MINERALS , which gained 40% this year, while GLD stagnated?
