  • 9 times out of 10 a regular routine tsh test reveals nothing aka what i went thru for so long thats why i finally found a good dr that ran every thyroid test there is .. where i was diagnosed with hashi..... i felt like crazy bad everyday my body was so out of wack.my hormones everything i felt like i was suffering alone you really have to educate yourself and know your body .i just started taking meds both topical pill form hopefully will start feeling better soon its deff a battle!

  • I don't understand some things here... How was it that the doctor came to the conclusion that you have an auto immune thing going on if it did not show in any blood work? And also why do you have a scar on your neck if you didn't remove the lump or thyroid?

  • @yingdiskette The Dr knew just by the sonogram because of the inflammation (goiter) and nodules that are so prevalent with Hashimotos (he confirmed it with blood work of course but he just knew by looking alone) and I got my thyroid removed because a few years after being diagnosed with Hashis I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. My videos tell my story in pieces. Thanks for your questions.

  • Im not exactly sure why my doctor thinks that by removing the thyroid it will be ok if he said I have hashimotos?? Im just really confused but that is a good question to ask if removing it will help? Its just that hashimotos is so confusing and when I get to the doctors office I just get really nervous and forget everything I wanted to ask ...so Im writing everthing down in a notebook and taking that with me on my next doctors appt . thanks for responding :)

  • @silviastars1 If you don't mind me asking, what are some of your questions? If I can help you in anyway I'd love to! If you want reply in here or send me a private message.

  • July 2011 I was diagnosed with hashimotos disease now my doctor is talking about wanting to remove my tyroid I scared and a little confused?? so once u get ur tyroid removed does ur hashimotos go away?? I know that after the removal u become hypothroid and must stilltake a pill for the rest of my life. I just confused? well thank u for making this video it has been very helpful. :)

  • @silviastars1 Hm. Can't say that I've ever heard of someone getting their thyroid removed due to Hashis. I've heard of it being done with Graves and of course with thyroid cancer. Any idea why your Dr. wants to remove your thyroid? If you have your thyroid removed you must take a pill for the rest of your life because you cannot live without a thyroid without replacing the essential hormones with a pill.

  • @silviastars1 From my understanding Hashis never goes away. Once you have an autoimmune disease you always have it. Unfortunately there is no cure. Not exactly sure what those antibodies do once your thyroid is removed. I mean when they remove a thyroid they can never get ALL the tissue so I guess there is something always left behind to attack? Not sure..Anyone else care to chime in?

  • Also thanks to you and others that post these videos so people like me can gather information from those who have experienced thyroid problems since many doctors seem to be ignnorant on the issue.

  • I have just been diagnosed with hashimoto's disease as well (22/male). I was just like you with no luck with the doctors and a normal TSH. I knew something was wrong and they just told me I was depressed and anxious. Finally after almost a year of suffering and tryin to figure out the problem I have been properly diagnosed. I am on 50 mcg of levothyroxine so hopefully that will help! I will also be starting a gluten free diet as well since I have heard many people say that is a good idea!

  • @titleistgolf723 Thank you...I'm glad you were able to find answers. It is so sad that people have to suffer for so long to get diagnosed. It seems like such a simple test to run to rule things in and out rather than be a last resort as Drs make it! I've heard about doing gluten free diets but I have a hard time staying away from gluten so instead I am trying to eat less gluten rather than no gluten. Let me know how it turns out for you..if it works I will def try it out.

  • OMG WHYYY are my videos not synching with my voice when I upload them!! wtf?
