Hi, I'm interested in this idea. Would you say that the reason it took you so long to light the cigarette was because it was hard to keep it still in the beam? Also have you tried this with more powerful lasers? If so how much better did they work for lighting the cigarette? What power would you suggest if this was my primary purpose for the laser?

Green isn't the best for burning stuff.

Blu-ray [blue-violet] however is incredible at it. A similarly powered [125mW in this case] would have lit that cigarette in less time than the sped up time in the video!
