Oh yeah I played the OCD and DOD+ also and my amp just plain didn't like them (I have a weird amp from the 70's it comes up on youtube if you search "sg systems amplifier C.M.I"

Is it just me, or does "blues" on a distortion pedal mean nothing these days? His SG sounds more bluesy without it. Most "blues distortion" pedals as of late just sound like a metal distortion pedal, almost like a big muff.

@gramhyro14 I had a shootout in the store between this, a dano cool cat transparent overdrive and bad monkey, monkey has the best EQ response (bassier bass, more trebbly treble) . It's a toss up between the cool cat and bad monkey, honestly save the 20-40 bucks and get the cool cat. they all break up my amp beautifully and give me very similar overdrive sounds and respond excellently to dynamics, all three, but the blues screamer has a more gain on tap so can produce a nice chunky distortion

And go grunge if you play more modern and punk style, go bad monkey if you like classic and blues rock as well as jazz in some cases, the bad monkey is much more versatile imo

i bought this pedal. i have an SG standard and a Marshall MG100DFX. i didn't like the pedal so i had to return it. it was only 50 bucks though

@whiteliongate: to improve the sound of the marshall dfx range of amps replace the speaker with a real celestion speaker from the UK and get an artec 'twin head" valve emulator over drive box to warm up the sound . These are not expensive options. if you want valves then just get a valve jcm 900 2x 12 and you won't need a fuzz/OD/distortion box of any kind except as a booster.

this pedal is good if want a low gain overdrive/distortion,

if you want a more high gain distortion get a digitech Hot Head and not a Digitech Bad Monkey because the Bad Monkey is More of a "Boost Pedal"
