Yes, its a 1" pipe. I tried a 3/4" pipe, but the air was too much restricted and it caused the motor on the squirrel cage to over heat. Good Luck with your build.
The blower came from a furnace. Which I purchased off of ebay. Its a Fasco blower motor (# 7121-9450E) that runs on 1.8 amps (115volts) and turns 3400 rpms (unless I adjust the speed via a variable speed switch). The tag does not say what the CFM's are (taking a guess, I'd say about 250 cfm's).
I pre-heat the burner with 4 ounces of diesel fuel. Once the burner is up to 375 degree's F, I turn the oil on and adjust the air via a variable speed switch that I have wired to the blower motor. On both ends of the burner, I have welded dams that hold the diesel fuel during preheat. You can see the one before I close the burner lid. I also use a infrared thermometer that tells me when the burner reachs 375 degree's F. Also, diesel fuel burns slow, that helps when preheating the burner.
IR part of your video is very impressive and informative! Excellent construction! :)
Congratulation! :)

Nice burner/stove! How do you ignite your burner for the first start?
