So... you probably figured something out by now.... but if you haven't I suggest stardock (also known as object dock) it's super pretty, and really customizable, and it works well. (And it doesn't crash your computer). And it's free.

I also have Windows 7, and my stepdad is a computer engineer who works for Bank of America (like, in the BIG corporate buildings) and it works fine for me. My stepdad says it doesn't crash your computer. Do you have the latest version?

Nexus winstep dude. Kicks the crap out of RocketDock any day of the week. The only downside is the themes aren't all that great, but the dock itself is really very good indeed.

if you have vista and can stand its error sounds you can download Object Dock, it works about the same

To help with the toolbar issue (I just did this on my Windows 7 computer), right click the toolbar and make sure the line "Lock the taskbar" doesn't have a checkmark next to it. If it does, click on it and it should go away. From that point on, just literally left click the toolbar and drag to the top and let go.

If you still have problems, feel free to let me know. :) I'mma geek like that.

i recommend putting shit on your desktop then putting the desktop toolbar, move it to the side and have a pop up menu. or if you wanna do the same but without the clutter on the desktop. use the quick start. to get it goto toolbars, new toolbar, and put C:\Users\(user-name)\AppData\R­oaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch ( don't miss putting your user where it says user-name) in the address bar and there you go.

Pin to start menu and task bar is pretty effective. If you want the look of a Mac, scrap the Dells and get a Mac :D

2 - select personalize

3 - in bottom right of window select taskbar

4 - where it says "bottom" in the pull down menu, turn that to "top"
