  • Just a little thought about Carlsen being so strong at a young age. Imagine him sitting at home analyzing one of his games. He s thinking to himself, "hmm, i would like a second opinion, but who should i call?" He looks at his phone and think, lets ask a friend, Kasparov, Kramink or Anand? Kasparov? Naa, he probably demans 10 grand for 10 minutes. Lets ask Kramink, he talks so much and probably would help for free. "hey Mr Kramink, i ve got a question for you" LOL

  • lol....It must be Me son! The British school system has produced most of the greatest minds the world has ever seen. Hawkins, newton, Darwen, Shakespear, Wordsworth..etc

  • thanks for subtitles

  • If this interviewer, is typical of the Norwegian TV industry, then My god , I am utterly eccstatic at being English and having access to the most superior TV, along with America, that the world has to offer. Add to that, the Music industry of My country, and for all it's faults England is Quite Magnificent..The guy conducting this interview is either typically Norwegian or just IGNORANT.. His Questions to Magnus Carlsen are akin to a jealous school yard bully......

  • @nighterjay "COMPLETELY MORON" until You learn the language don't bother responding to Me!! A comedian You say?? Oh, is He funny in Norway?? I refer You to My original post then You child fucker!!!

  • @nighterjay Thats the frikin point. Its a comedy show and he always asks ridiculous questions. Know what your talking about before you throw your trash around.

  • @bananosbjarne Why would I have ever watched norwegian TV to learn about this guy? Only Norwegians watch Norwegian Tv...That says it all for Me. Now back to Your Jodeling!!

  • @nighterjay Jodeling isn't even Norwegian. Either the British schoolsystem fails epicly, or it's just you.

  • what is rasins

  • @SRDTL raisins. haha ;D

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • This is Matt Damon guys, stop calling him Magnus Carlsen.

  • You can atleast get intellgient unrehearsed humor when you interview top chess players. :D

  • he must have studied How To Play Chess Like An Animal to get this good.

  • @wrimle

What? OJ isn't politically incorrect at all. He always targets and makes fun of things that are popular to make fun of, showing absolutely no creativity. He's just a predictable left wing hack. Making fun of the US, Israel, Christianity and Bondevik (neither of which I particularly like, mind you) is hardly politically incorrect or unusual. Only teenagers and morons are stupid enough to find him funny, as they're unable to see through his stale, poorly written material.

  • "not positive" "what kind of attitude is that?"

The interviewer is funny but he's annoying too.He doesn't seem to understand or value humility,a trait common to gifted/bright people. What is Magnus supposed to do?Rant how great he is like some talentless rapper?

  • He thought Magnus was unsure and he was trying to boost his confidence, you moron.

  • I have a grasp of the conversation charlie, don't need a lecture from you...from somebody who thinks nothing of call another "moron" but only from the safety of his computer.

Got more wise ass talk for me?

  • you're such a faggot

  • dont misunderstand guys. norwegians doesnt have that bad humor

  • Absolutely hilarious!

  • Magnus Carlsen look like the Finland HS rampage shooter.

  • That was really funny I assume that was a Norwegian talk show right? Sorry I am American and don't know any better although I do have a sister that lives in Stavanger....

  • Good on him yo . . . chess is the SHIT !

  • Lol @ Topalov he's always so easy to make fun of...

  • ...nerdy parent... are a retard? chess is not nerdy alot people play it and it big sport. I use to play chess all the time yet i still had alot of fun in elementary and high school... only fag belive that chess is for geek or loser... it just that were all the geek and loser go because they have no were to go but that just 1/1000 of the people that play chess...

  • @UnderDog988 Its nerdy in the real word it is, a geek is not a looser a nerd is not a looser, what the fuck is a looser? probably someone who has a weak brain imo. a nerd/geek is not a negative word its a super good word, it defines someone who has an INTELLECTUAL hobby/interest, a hobby of the brain, wether it be science or chess or gaming or whatever, it has nothing to do with losers lmao, it has to do with living and being smart, dont use them as negatives, they are not.

  • @Etrajbe A loser is defined as someone who loses... Like you can lose at life, not having friends or social skills. Loser doesn't mean nerd or geek it means inferior at something whether it at a sport or basicly anything.

Nerd is a negative word, being a nerd doesn't mean your smart it mean that your intrest aren't normal for your age whether there to mature or not mature enough. What your talking about is being an intellectual which is not directly related to being a nerd.

  • @UnderDog988 Well than thats just the way u define the word, imo the road from nerd to intellectual is shorter than from normal to intellectual. Also what? having interest that arent normal? sounds like the recipe for a good human? Not following the herd? doing what u like? Embracing individualism. Who cares about whats "normal"? "too mature" well thats retarded to mean in a negative way..

  • @Etrajbe That is not how i define the word it is how dictionary defines it. Still words are meant to express ideas and so you can basicly associate any mean you want to it.

As for the part of not being normal one exemple would be the adults who do live roleplaying games and another would be the kids who would rather study science then go out and party.

If you compare them to the general public they are not in the norm of society thus abnormal.

  • @Etrajbe The negative associated with a nerd and geeks is that they dont fit in with there age group that all, there no deeper mean to it.

  • wrong.. his from norway, not the usa

  • @fridtjofbda NoWay!?!

  • haha it's like wisconsin had a talk show

  • please elaborate

  • Yeah, it's nice to know that his bizarre English interviews are mainly a language problem.

  • Carlsen is sooooo laid back, I wonder if he ever can get into a real bad temper and start shouting or something... Maybe Kasparov can teach him that too :-)

  • hilarious comments by TV host and Magnus LOL!!

  • Very funny interview by both of them.

  • this guy seems to have everything written but magnus is pure comedic genius

  • yeah, i like how relaxed he's answering, and it's pretty hilarious as well.

  • Is this serious? :|

  • Yeah, but it's a comedy show tho.

  • lol very nice. Can you believe it? One of the youngest grandmasters/chess prodigy who is also good at comedy and has a great sense of humour. Nice to see people being multi-talented

  • er han autist?

  • obviously not.

  • *Genius.

  • Funny show!

  • Ranked 5 in the world?

  • HAHAHA!! Topalov! No wonder he's a world-class GM!!

  • nice guy carlsen :)

  • being from eastern europe i cant say i disagree with him

    my comment was sarcastic nonetheless

  • who cares were your form idiot... everyone mock everyone american mock every and even them self... so stop being so fucking emotional...

  • This is truly the successor to Fischer's throne... But he's normal. As long as he keeps socializing, we shouldn't have another Fischer-like catastrophe, and this prodigy may well be the first to surpass 3000 Elo.

  • they didnt make fun of that. they did make fun of that, he was sceared because he dont understand what they are saying. and BTW: The norwegian language was voted nr 22. in a what language does sound most irritating test. between 23 languages. made by NY TIMES

  • Norwegian also NORSK is one of the world's hardest languages:D

    /hail Norway

  • f.u and your old english

  • Language may be poor, but the country is a trillon times richer than yours and is the official "Best country to live in"

Atleast we don't got 20 homeless people on each streetcourner and 11 year old pregnant girls

  • Neither do we, Bleach

  • wtf? this didnt make any sense for any1 !

  • WRONG! Finnish is last on the list. ;P

  • Haha, han er jo faen meg morsom også!xD

  • ROFL the pic of tobalov XD

  • this is brilliant!...'SOME kind of genius?' LOL.

  • Ahaha Simen Agdestein! Jeg har lyst til a se det programmet! Vet noen hvor jeg kan finne det?

  • I have never seen Adams on BBC and Short never since 93.

  • WIN!

  • Rasins are great, aren't they?

  • Magnus is a funny boy. I like him:)

  • Red subtitles were too hard to read.

  • He's one of my favorite players

  • No shit Sherlock

  • Yeah. It`s BS. Theaching Janteloven in kindergarden should be a crime! :)

  • magnus carlsen is a chess god!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good

  • an interesting way of doing a talkshow. i wonder how he talks to adults.

  • ROFL, that host was funny as hell. Carlsen is great, I hope he chooses chess as a career..it would be a real insult to a lot of chess masters if he feigned his great talent.

  • Another thing that's cool is that he is quite witty. He's answers made everyone laugh

  • I've been so lucky that I've watched this prodigy in action. Brilliant to say it at least.

  • i think that magnus carlsen is a genius even he doesn't want to accepted, he answered his question very secure... so, it means that he nows what he does... so... COME ON MAGNUS!! I LOVE YOU TOOO!!! ^_^

  • I personally believe that he'd at least seen the questions in advance. That is VERY common on TV.

Seriously, you don't expose a 16 year old kid, without any media training to this kind of an aggressive interviewing style unprepared. It would make really bad television.

I think the interview funny regardless of how it came about.

  • I work on the show and know for a fact that Magnus did not see the qs in advance. He's just a really smart and funny kid. He's been a guest twice, and brilliant both times.

  • Really. That's impressive.

When I was on the Norwegian version of the show Jeopardy, all the competitors had a talk with the host about the midprogram Q&A session before the show was actually recorded. But then again.. he didn't know squat about any of us so I guess he needed to do the research...

    Great show!

  • That guy is a genius! One of the few norwegian ones:P 16 years and beating most of the world's elite..Pretty amazing..

  • well for Eastern people, norwegian language is incomprehensible too :) ... good job Magnus!

  • He's a total disaster at interviews in English, but in Norwegian he's great!

  • The questions most certainly are, but the answers, atleast in Norwegian talk shows, aren't.

  • Raisins. Not Rasins

  • You're right about that. Sadly, the subtitle editor in Windows Movie Maker has no spell checking. And I didn't bother to write the translations in MS Word first.

  • Dodgy east block guys with connections to organized crime... :) He must be talking of Danailov

  • He seems to be a regular kid... I commend his parents for doing such a good job raising him

  • Nice one! Like Magnus' answers!
