The sign that says "Prop. 8 = Religious Freedom" makes no sense. Maybe they forgot to add "NO on" right in front of it. Seriously, forced religion (which is what Prop. 8 is) is not religious freedom. Watched the video, read the side bar. My opinion would be to eliminate marriages all together, civil unions for everyone. Since the origins of marriage existed before the bible and served only for social needs/wants (anthropologists would agree.) Also to support that is, since Prop 8 is an issue in the US, which is a nation based upon the separation of church and state. All marriages should just be civil unions so we can stop all this hate, discrimination, and exclusion.

The sign that says "Prop. 8 = Religious Freedom" makes no sense. Maybe they forgot to add "NO on" right in front of it. Seriously, forced religion (which is what Prop. 8 is) is not religious freedom. I honestly don't see how letting gay people marry affects anyone else. The only reason Prop. 8 passed was because of the campaigns lies. Prop. 8 wouldn't affect education, and even if it did, it's not like kids would become gay from learning about gay marriage.

Sure, they may have the same LEGAL benefits. But marriage is more honored in today's society. Gays want to have that same sense of security that straight married couples have. I am straight and I have no problem with letting any 2 adults who love each other marry. It doesn't affect straights at all.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but the point is gay unions are NOT marriage, you can dress them up any way you like, but they are not marriage and the people of California upheld that. Call it something else if you want, but its not marriage.
