I like how this is both a call to a repentence on the part of the American people, but also a genuine attempt to remind Christians of our duty. Sure, Moses and John Baptist were chosen to lead the chosen people Israel in different ways. But Jesus came to save whosoever believe and follow Him by grace. Everybody is a sinner. The 'Second Coming" and 'Day of Judgement' were supposed to come within a few years of the death of Jesus and in the lifetime of the apostles. It is hilarious that evangelicals have been looking forward to the immanent end of the world on each of the nearly three quarters of a million days that have passed since then - and there will be countless more days that they will hope are each the last.

Whether the sun orbits the earth or the earth orbits the sun is entirely based on where you place your frame of reference. All motion in space is relative so depending upon your frame of reference, both statements are technically correct.

All can be saved that go to Christ and REPENT. This means be deeply sorry for all the wrong things you have done (breaking Gods law) and want to change and obey God. The only way you can truly repent is if the father DRAWS you to Christ with His Spirit, which will show how desperately you need forgiveness.
You should be baptized and renounce your sinful life. God can give you His Spirit which will renew you to the image of Christ strengthening you to walk in Love instead of fleshly desires.

I have read the book. In fact, I've been reading it since kindergarden and all throughout elementary school, middle school, sunday school, and High School. I have also consulted with pastors of my Lutheran church, as well as a pastor at a Baptist church and I can confidently say He did NOT say such a thing.

I've read the Bible, and I find it to be a fairy tale involving tired stories that have been used over and over again in hundreds of religions and it involves a character "God" that is positively nasty and another "Jesus" whose advice is neither original nor 'righteous' in many cases.

I like how this is both a call to a repentence on the part of the American people, but also a genuine attempt to remind Christians of our duty. Hypocrisy has always been the worm in the apple of the Church. I personally present the Gospel differently...to me it's more 'Rejoice o captives, your salvation is at hand!' and less 'Repent in the face of your imminent doom...' but at the end of the day, God has shown both to be true.

In my belief, god does not expect prayer nor does does he have a specific religion that is correct. What ever you call him, he will be pleased to be treated as a god (as it is known to most people), As with prayer, as long as what ever ritual is done is to praise him in the same intent as you would with praying. hence forth, as i believe, unless the religion is diluted or straying from the general path of god, all religions shall got to heaven =)
