I had dreads too and I combed them out but I cudnt last 3 months w/out them Im lettin my hair lock again I really dont like to even look in the mirror anymore, strange thing is thats how I felt when my hair 1st locked, but I guess they grew on me, why did u take urs out? They were SO beautiful
This saddens my heart to see so many sistas getting on one another for the decisions they make on how to care for their hair. Sis you and your hair are beautiful. I am a natural hair care professional, and I work with women who have processed hair also (although I won't do the actual chemical process). It's cool to educate on how to manage your natural hair, but respect a womans ultimate decision on how she decides to wear her hair. Some of these ladies need to grow up!!!
Greeting sis... I have locs and just celebrated my 1 year loc anniversary. Let me tell u... I would not trade this journey for any other style. HOWEVER, I absolutely respect your decision to take your locs out (not that you needed my approval- SMILE) but too often we put other sistahs down for there hair choice. Keep posting and all the best to you on your new journey.
SMH, I find that I am the type of person for dreads because I was and am tired of the straightening and the maintenance. I will not be surprised when you come back and say that you decided to go back to locs. I find that we become impatient with our hair and we want to see changes that just aren't ready yet. Good luck to you!
@Brownsug66 Actually, i feel that relaxed and locs are more difficult to maintain than relaxed hair. With natural hair, i constantly had to twist it at night to keep it looking decent and with locs after getting them done, a week later they wouldn't look right to me,but with relaxed hair, i can put it in a ponytail, a bun, etc. so trust me, i won't be going back to natural hair
@PhatChocolate30 Thanks. I used two different kinds of conditioner(i really dont remember the name)but i don't think it matters what kind of conditioner to use. I soaked my hair in boiling hot water to soften the loc, then i saturated the loc with conditioner, and then i took a fork and carefully worked my way from the bottom of the loc until the root. It took about a week because i had a lot of help.
your hair looks great!! now about xxxxjojoxxx09... she is a nasty somebody!! eww:( and did you see her channel picture? let me stop. lol! anywho, I use to have ppl like that writing trash on my videos, now I just block them. I realized that those ppl are only looking for attention. when you actually view their profile they have little to no channel views or subscribers. I wonder what they get out of it? some ppl are so pathetic! smh... who cares! anyway, great video! take care:)
@themukisa11 OMG, thank you. When she sent me that comment, I was like whoa, what in the world is she talking about and when i went to her page i could barely see her picture and she didn't even have any uploaded pics. So I had to kindly put her in her place and block her because im allergic to ignorant people. Thanks a lot for the compliments and kind words and keep doing what your doing as well.
@Xuaraus LMAO!!! I had to. I have no idea why she came at me like that but i wasn't about to let her get away with it. Thanks for compliment and take care
@xxxxjojoxxxx09 Ok,now i know i'm dealing with an ignorant person. For starters, you spelled absloutely incorrectly, you used offensive incorrectly(you should've said offensively)You were trying to say "no wonder none" but you said "No wonder no"(I can keep going)Honey,I have a man, remember,he was your ex-boyfriend.Stay in school and take two English classes because you desperately need it. In conclusion, you're officially blocked because i have no need for ignorant individuals like you.
@xxxxjojoxxxx09 Are you serious?Do I even know you?Are you one of those women whose man i've taken or one of the haters I have that only keeps me motivated to continue living my life and make you ignorant chicks mad.I don't even know why i'm arguing with a little girl like you.Instead of hating on me,get like me and get a college degree in ENGLISH(which is what I have a degree in,how ironic huh?).You'll never be on my level little girl and I can be a bitch but you can never call me a broke bitch
@xxxxjojoxxxx09 It's obvious that you have no idea about black hair nor do you have a clue about what "damaged hair" looks like or you wouldn't have made that dumb ass comment. If my hair was truly damaged then my hairdresser that still does my hair would have told me and not a young ass white girl(or whatever the hell you are) that doesn't even have a cosmetology license...So, if you have any further ignorant comments to post on MY page, please keep them to yourself little girl...
Very good video. I want to get locks but was always afraid of having to cut my hair to take them out. This is helpful. Which kind of locks did you have to begin with? I doubt removing it this way will work will interlocks or sister locks.
@TheDouchka The front of my hair was interlocked because it was so soft and wouldn't stay twisted and the back was palm rolled. I've always heard that interlocking works better than palm rolling but honestly nothing really worked for me, but sisterlocks are more permanent and much more expensive to maintain. Good Luck with your journey
Thanks for the tip...I'm trying the figure out what to do with it though...I had plats and now i'm wearing a puff in a ponytail but i don't know what to do...any suggestions???
I was horrible at stying simply because I cant braid. but there's always press n curl, braid outs twist outs, twist mohawks, My favorite look is the curly fro. You just twist your hair into medium sized tst and set them on rollers. when dry finger style.
Thanks....everyone told me that they were pretty, but they never looked the way that i wanted them to look...I thought i had more coarse hair but I don't so I just couldn't take it anymore...They were not hard to comb out though because i used conditioner, hot water, and a fork...it took about a week straight but it was pretty easy
How long did it take ? I have been locking for 3 years but I wanna comb them out now !
