  • THIS IS CMA (CEBUANO MARTIAL ARTS) PROUD TO BE CEBUANO THE ORIGIN OF THIS ART!

  • PROUD TO BE A CEBUANO THE ORIGIN OF FMA!

  • Thank you for supporting and spreading awareness of FMA. It's amazing how so few people know the effectiveness and beauty of the art. If anybody is looking to train in the South Florida area, I'd like to invite you to come train with our group.

    Much respect!

  • Anu ba yan, patapos na po ang 2010, pero hindi parin showing...

  • @letshavewhat1111 I apologize for the delay. I've announced that the release date has been postponed to April 2011, so we will keep you all posted as soon as it's ready. Thank you very much for your support.

  • @siro777 Ganun po ba hihintayin ko po yan, 2011 can't wait for it..

  • @siro777 Sir Siro777, kindly pa update po regarding the date of showing of this documentary sir, "bladed hand", and where it would be shown, pa P.M. po kung kailan at saan sir, if it's not too much of a bother.

    Thanks.

  • @banyohazard69 Hi there. Tentative Manila Premiere schedule is for late April 2011. We will still have to look for distributors, and that means DVDs will come out much later. Thanks for your support and patience. Happy new year!

  • @siro777 Thank you for your reply sir, I have always been an advocate of our very own indigenous fighting arts, I always believe that we Filipinos should keep this "pamana" of our ancestors alive, so that the next generations of Filipinos would still be able to learn and use it if they need to.

Anyway.. I made a thread in PACLAND (a Pacquiao fan site) regarding your documentary "bladed hand" and many people there were interested. I'll update them now about your P.M. about the new date and venue.

  • Two dislikes from descendants of the Conquistadores, FMA #FTW!

  • I LOVE THIS FILM! I'M SO PROUD TO BE A PINOY!

  • @marumito hopefully this documentary will be succesful.

  • @letshavewhat1111 - It already is just the mere fact that they made another documentary about our indigenous art of Philippines .. it's already a major achievement.

  • the pekiti-tirsia system of kali originates from the province of panay and negros occidental in the philippines and was formulated and perfected by tortal family

  • i just stumbled into jay ignacio's video of kali, im not martial artist but i admire is enthusiasm on bringing us back filipinos to our roots and reemerging in us that treasure we always have with us for centuries. this is something to really be proud of. one of the fma masters that i am so interested that i hope hollywood would look into his life is the founder of "pekiti-tirsia kali", negros born, conrado "tay dadoy" tortal, one of the greatest and perhaps forgotten?

  • I want to learn Eskrima so bad, but there's nothing here in Chicago suburbs :(

  • when i was a kid i can remember seeing articles on arnis in the now defunct kick illustrated magazine from 1983. the article was entitled "the thirsty blades of kali". i was shocked and startled at the sight of the double machete techniques as they even in a static photo looked devestating. i am honored to be a practitioner of this efective system & am pleased at what i see from this trailer.im looking forward to seeing it. my hats off to the producers of what i am sure will be a classic.

  • MABUHAY ANG PILIPINO! MABUHAY ANG KALI KAMAGONG ARNIS ESKRIMA!!!

  • Where can we get a copy of this beautiful film?

  • @jeson86 There won't be any DVDs for now. We're premiering this in Manila around April 2011, and we still have to shop it around to find distributors. Once we find one, we'll make an announcement. Thanks for your support!

  • @siro777 I so sorry we have to wait that long for it. I was so looking forward to seeing it in Septemeber. Good luck with it. It deserves good distrtibution.

  • "I will say this...I knwo I will practice this art tillthe day I die." I LOVE THAT QUOTE.

This looks like a great and informative documentary about the art. As a FMA enthusiast I'm looking forward to seeing it.

COLONIAL MENTALITY ba! Kaya itong martial art natin eh mas sikat pa at mas napapakinabangan sa ibang bansa kesa dito sa sariling nitong bansa.

  • i hope film producers and directors in our country may have a look at our own martial arts and produce quality films that will inspire filipinos to learn our own martial arts, it's also good to know that the hollywood movie BOOK OF ELI the protagonist trained for months learning kali which is also arnis to prepare for the movie, hope that we can make movies like that,

  • @iloveguitaryeah I will be moving to the Philippines within a year to pursue exactly what you hope can happen for films there.

  • @unclebraddah thanks, i will really pray for your success and for your project to be a good hit here philippine cinemas

  • when you see my blade...heh..now..thats a different story

  • "When you see the blade, it is supposed to remind you of how your forefathers defended your land against conquistadores."

This is one brave move! I commend your heart and eagerness to preserve our culture and heritage. Rest assured that I'm gonna help promoting this one in my own way. =)

I hope this documentary be a precursor of an FMA-based movie! =)

May God richly bless your endeavor as well as to those people who make this documentary possible. KUDOS TO YOU ALL! =)

  • @macy0112 Thank you very much. I hope for an all-out FMA production with a Hollywood budget will also happen. Thank you very much for your support.

  • @macy0112 Jay and I are talking about it. :)

  • @unclebraddah Bring it on then! =)

May God richly bless the works of your hand and the thoughts of your heart =)

  • @macy0112

  • the martial arts are beatiful but no are efective sorry. The realyti need a mixed combat sistem and practice a real combat.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! Cheers to you for sharing! Thank God for your dedication in helping spread what it means to be Pinoy. :]

  • nice! film!!! for power to Filipino Martial Arts!

  • Bullshit the number Filipino killer is called High Blood !!

  • dan inosanto!

  • let's support anything, and everything filipino, think about what benifits we could gain, if we blindly continue to emulate foreign martial arts without patronizing our own. low self esteem, and character, that's what we gain. we need to establish our pride, and nationality like other countries, who has their own brand of martial arts! mabuhay ang pilipino!!!

  • hehe nag lagay ako nito sa Pacland, mga warfreak tao dun, they love boxing, specially Manny Pacquiao; I made a thread about this documentary.

  • Sir Siro, ano po to sa cinema?is this shown in theaters here in the Philippines? or should I buy this on DVD? Mabuhay! proud to be Filipino.

  • nice Trailer! :) good to see Uncle Topher and my cousins there! :)

  • look weak

  • @TheArea510 why is it weak to you?

  • Looks like an amazing tribute to FMA.

  • Whoa, when is this coming out? I missed Eskrimadors, screening. I don't wanna miss this one

  • Looks Awesome!!! can't wait!

  • Proud to be Filipino!!!

  • Can´t wait to see it!

  • Nice!!!!!!!

  • Jay, you did a great job!!!

  • @Ronbalicki Thank you, Ron!

  • @Ronbalicki Ron, I love your quote on this. "I know I will practice this art till the day I die." Great quote!!

  • mabuhay tayong mga kayumanggi..... lets do everything that our culture does not get lost through time ang populap culture......

  • Excellent work...congrats on a fine product..mabuhay....

  • salamat, kailan ang labas ng film mo?

  • 1:33:)

  • Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. This has been a labor of love that we did without any sponsors or network backing. This film is for the entire FMA community, and most especially for the Filipino People.

  • @siro777 It is a great labor of love . The trailer looks great . As an FMA Enthusiast I am so looking forward to seeing the film. Its about time, Eskrima is getting the recognition it deserves. Well done.

  • @siro777

Sir Siro, ano po to sa cinema?is this shown in theaters here in the Philippines? or should I buy this on DVD? Mabuhay! proud to be Filipino.

  • @siro777

Sir Siro, will this be shown here in the Philippine cinemas? or should I buy this on DVD? Mabuhay ang lahing Pilipino!

  • @banyohazard69 it is our goal to premiere it in Manila and Cebu as well as submit for the global film festivals.

  • @unclebraddah

Sir unclebraddah, is it in selected cinemas only? or will I be able to see this in a cinema mall here near our house? and if it is in selected cinemas only... saan naman? I was hoping you get to show it in schools and universities here in Philippines, that way FMA will get more exposure specially to the next generation.

  • @banyohazard69 the documentary is still in the process of post production and a theater hasn't been selected as of yet where it will premiere. we are still looking at the possibilities of where it will play. one of the director's goals is to get it into the universities and schools to propagate our culture through our own martial arts.

  • @unclebraddah

I see...I was thinking of learning FMA , I haven't yet (I have long wanted to practice self defense, ever since high school, but it is only now after graduating from college I am able to; while searching, I stumbled upon our very own FMA and saw it as practical and deadly effective and a means to learn more of our culture).

  • @unclebraddah

My plan is... to learn/master/practice FMA then go back (not teach in school but just show them maybe during university week, but if the students wants to learn FMA I will be glad to point them to the right people.) to my alma matter to show what FMA is all about to the students, being practical and deadly; to expose and introduce the Arts to the younger ones; hopefully I get some help from people in the FMA community, when I start learning FMA soon.

  • @unclebraddah

I hope that we could reach as many schools as possible, to expose more Filipinos and to raise interest in the youth to take up FMA as a form of self defense and a way to appreciate our heritage, resulting to more Filipinos here in the Philippines wanting to take up FMA; I think the reason that there are less Filipinos taking up FMA compared to foreign arts is because of lack of exposure of FMA here in our own shores.

  • @unclebraddah

for example, my previous school has Tae Kwondo lessons available but no FMA, they have it in P.E. but only the basic with sticks, hence students who are enthusiastic about fighting arts rarely know our own FMA; I myself have to search for hours for FMA on the internet just to learn more about it and where to find credible Guro's. I just want to see more Filipino's practicing FMA in our own shores; that's all I want and nothing more; hope you guys help me.

  • @banyohazard69 I would love to smack you in the head with a Bahi or Kamagong

  • @Ibalon2012 I doubt you could do that, people who talk about how they will beat up other people are just mere posers.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ibalon2012 How mature of you to put threats on youtube...it's really easy to become tough in front of your computer right? your posts just tells me what kind of person you are.

  • @siro777

Hope you also get to show it in schools and universities here in the Philippines specially to less prominent schools; I would love to help propagate our local Fighting Arts here in our own shores, but sadly there is just so much I can do alone, but I think that REAL exposure to the younger generations will open up their eyes to our heritage.

  • nice

  • Jay, this is neat stuff. :) :) I can't wait for the film to be released bro. This is very impressive. - Ari

  • Wow, so exciting Tito Jay! I really hope I get to see it!

  • @angelofmusic99 Thanks, Ja! I'll do what I can to get to US theatres.

  • Hehe. Kaadik. I just watched the trailer 7x in a row. Please tell me this will eventually find its way into DVD format? :D Asteeeeg talaga!

  • Thank you for sharing and for promoting our very own Filipino Martial Arts culture and heritage! Keep up the inspiring effort!

  • this is what ive been waiting for cant wait for the film :D

  • I am removing any comments that may be derogatory or insulting to the personalities featured in this video. This documentary is meant to show everyone in a positive light and I don't care if you have any ill feeling with some of them. We're just not going there.

  • excellent trailer. When and where is the entire film available?

  • Isang napakalaking PUGAY!!!

Kudos to Jay, Kent and Everyone!

  • AWESOME! Can't wait to see the full film! Great job, Jay! :D

  • @kalipfs i don't know how long your comment will remain on this page. but our efforts in promoting FMA has nothing to do w/ differences in personality, opinions or experiences. i respectfully ask you that if you do comment further on this video, please refrain from any negativity. it doesn't do you or the art any justice.

  • :) kadangyan nmn ang mga yun haha GOGO SiR

  • This is flippin' awesome. Thank you Sonny for spreading this knowledge. I'm so proud of you.

  • Great masters! Pugay!

  • I love the Disciplines of the Body and of the Mind from wherever they come.

  • Good Job Unclebraddah!

  • Nicely done! Can't wait to see it!

  • Pare...awesome job!!! MickiDEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • I am proud to be a filipino who have friends like these guys...

  • @ikawpr don't be the guy who has friends, be the eskrimador who has blades. i live in the bay area and talk to pinoys who immigrated here and they have no understanding or awareness of our Art. it's sad. if it's in your blood you'll know it after you've sparred with a yantok.

  • @somethinglikeadream ..thank you somethin, but if im gonna learn how to be eskrimador,i might slash throats on patients by mistake..ahahahhh...

  • @somethinglikeadream our efforts are concentrated to those who don't know about their heritage. martial arts isn't for everyone. for those that don't practice, we can at least propagate the knowledge of FMA history to them and bolster pride of where they came from. right?

  • You sought out to wet our appetites. We're drooling. =)

    Mabuhay.

  • Looks AWESOME!

  • Great Job. Truly great. I'm glad the artis getting the apreciation and attention it deserves.

  • can't wait to see this film!!!!! nice job!

  • MABUHAY!!! FMA
