I have had this happen back when i tried the "iT" the clue that holds the plastic locking part to the slug wears away and breaks apart from the slug. It sucks and can hurt alot if it comes off a second before the flat spot in your swing.
That's what he gets for using that junk! When will you people wake up? Switch Grip,,,Grip Lock,,,Vice IT,,,,all cheap garbage! And all cheap immitations of the origional,,,Perfecta-Grip. Which,by the way,has NEVER had one break in over 20 years, so if your dumb enough to use anything but perfecta-grip and it breaks,,,or it breaks your thumb,,,you deserve it.
The reason why his slug broke is because whoever made his slug didnt put the pieces in that sandwich the white screw on piece to the bottom of the slug, so the only thing holding it together was super glue........im sure barnes had fun unscrewing the piece out of the ball with a bevel knife lol
@Fuzztsimmers I was just about to ask... how is Grip Loc? I saw the one by Turbo and that one looks like it's a separation anxiety waiting to happen. I am currently using the IT but am curious about Grip Loc. It's been a year since your post so do you still use it? What are the pros and cons?
FYI - the IT itself didn't break, the bottom of the urethane slug actually broke. This particular one was in a ball that got drilled short on tour so the thumb sleeve was never removed. Heathrow did a number on my equipment, the zippers were both broke and the balls looked like they rolled around in the parking lot. I think this is what damaged the bottom of the slug. i think the IT is great and I have no plans to use anything but. Still haven't seen an IT break...
@gimmickguy Are you a crazy person? Honestly watch the video you can see the slug in one piece its not broke. Whats happened is the glue has failed. You can see the entire slug on Barnes thumb with no VISE IT molly attached to it. A system is only as strong as its weakest part an this systems weakest part is that the Vise IT Slug has to be glued to the Vise IT Slug Molly an the Ball IT Molly has to be glued into the ball. If the glue fails on either of these then the IT fails YES IT BREAKS.
@Nelvin78 I agree

same thing happened to me a couple of times so I had to get rid of the ITs. I loved the ITs but I would put to much torque on them.

at 0.21 is that a spark from the ball as it lands on the lane?
gary374757 8 months ago
@gary374757 No, just a change in the lighting. Bowling balls can't spark, as they aren't made of metal, and the lane itself is also not metal.

@DaveBais you get a cleaner roll, but most proshops wont do this because the bridge can crack easier.

What do you people expect from cheap imitations? The stonewalled originator,
"Perfecta Grip", has never had a single locking system failure in over 20 years.
I've tried the others & they are ALL toys.
Toys break! Explore the Perfecta Grip
(as their record will speak for itself). at: perfectagrip (dotcom)
They even have them for fingers, too!
When will this industry ever wake up?
