@RReneeS spook is not a racist word. That is has gotten racist connotations over time and is now considered not PC is one thing, but in those days there was nothing racist about the word spook.

Same thing with the words gay and fag that are frequently used to denote homosexuals. Those words meant something completely different earlier on.

This series of commercials ran for 6 years,...and Ruth Buzzi bought a nice house in the Hollywood Hills....thank you Post cereal. This was done with male voice of Jerry Matthews...who sounded a lot like Bing Crosby...Ruth later became an international star with Laugh-In and many other shows.
