ex sample a clever fighter would most likely hit with the same hand he just block not always the predicted oppsite hand and with the subect of punches, punches would not have been pulled before striking as that is telegraghing but we have to remember this was made for viewers to be able to catch every movement.
also remember pulling a punch does not add power it does telegragh it
Ruthmed silly muppet. Just because you copy illustrations doesn't mean you have the physical attributes to display the proper application of skill. Out of respect to boxings roots the fighters of old were more knowledgeable than given credit for. MMA albeit a new concept is only Martial Arts gone full circle.
This is a bad illustration of old style boxing. Mind you this is an actor, and he is not a master. Old style boxing was vicious and dirty by todays standards. In the later rounds they would use more standing grappling and throws, akin to what might be seen in an MMA match.
@schaelakhan : you are confusing amateur, gentleman's boxing with bareknuckle fights. Brett did his homework and this is based on illustrations of the period.
lol no sir...cake walk is a move in old school boxing and often used by 52 block practitioners its similar to capoeiras ginga...lool up UFC brandon vera vs. kristoff szosinski...look what brandon is doing peace!
haha, I always thought this scene was a bit silly---like the feet part where they're all like "OOooohh!" XD I mean I know they're my darling Jeremy's feet, but still...
I'm glad they had a boxing scene though--it's always lovely to be correct to the book.
Wtf was he doing with his hands...

its an old style kinda similar to the cake walk its kind of not advisable coz it throws off your balance when your legs cross

Is "the cake walk" similar to the moon walk? LOL
Sherlock is also good with a walking stick and barjitsu.
