This game had a much better story than I thought it would honestly, and the flashback scenes with Tikal were what made it. The whole ancient Echidna society thing was hinted at way back in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but it wasn't until this game that it was really fleshed out.

@ChaosJokerXtreme Well, with Nintendo and SEGA working on this, it shouldn't be that bad. Considering that two shit publishers were working on those, there's a very good reason those games sucked. If that idea came to fruition, there's a good chance Shigeru Miyamoto's gonna have SOMETHING to do with it. And every game he seems to even look at while it's in production becomes amazing. I think it'd be great.

Since Tikal sealed herself within the Master Emerald with Chaos, I think the emerald lent its power to her to help guide Sonic and his friends towards soothing Chaos and stopping Robotnik.

Of course she's dead, at the time Dr.Eggman read about Chaos, Tikal was dead thousands of years ago. But she recited something which made her and Chaos's soul/spirit form within the Chaos emearld. So yah o_0; She was alive and dead at the same time until the Emarald broke I believe her and Chaos's spirit left.
