  • One of my very favorite scenes in the movie is where the mother appears with the three of them. Never tire of watching that scene.

  • Rest in peace Catherine Scorsese,

    April 16, 1912 – January 6, 1997

  • I've seen this movie, like, 40 times.

But now that I'm learning these new tidbits about the movie (like never noticing the Copacabana scene was a single steadicam shot) or THIS scene was improvised.... Just amazing. Whole new appreciation.

  • I'm more upset that Jarmusch didn't even remember Ray Liotta was in the scene.

  • Mother Scorsese is great. Loved her on Letterman as well!

  • That scene is an absolute classic! Simply brilliant!

  • You can see where he gets the good looks (eyebrows) from LOL

  • I've always wondered if that dinner scene was improvised as Scorsese mentioned. It was one of my favorite scenes.

  • Fuck that girl in the orange shirt at 1:16 for texting during the interview. When Martin Scorsese speaks, YOU. PAY. ATTENTION!

  • @Troubleshoot3R Well said sir!

  • @Troubleshoot3R she should get her fuckin shinebox!

  • @Troubleshoot3R Let's beat her :D

  • At first i thought this was a joke because of the way jim jarmusch looks

  • That's good Scorcese didn't tell his mother that there is supposed to be a body out in the trunk in that scene. I was just watching it before I saw this and thought she did so well and it seemed so real and natural. If she knew too much about the scene it could have ruined it.

  • People shouldn't plug their own shit in these videos...

  • Sure I love this movie, but for this scene I have most special feeling to than the whole movie, because I think she looks my grandmother and my lovely grandmom is not italian and neither her family, but they're similar some how, I don't know.

  • @rtms1988 I feel the same way! She look so much like my great grandma. We aren't Italian either, but she was Eastern European. I think it has to do with being one of the first generations in this country-being more hospitable-and living in a big city. My grandma was from Chicago and East Chicago...

  • If you love Goodfellas...

Check out our parody of the "Funny How?" scene from Goodfellas.

Please share it with any Scorsese & Goodfellas fans you know or just a friend.

  • one of the greatest movie scenes ever

  • @kinksboss1 I coudn't agree more...! and the fact that it was almost completely improvised makes it all the more special

  • so they de niro improvised, "Looks like someone we know"? Genius!!

  • learning what i have from this video, it puts a whole new spin on that scene. fantastic!
