  • Im going to buy the film regardless of what you say, your a grown man so you might find things not scary or creepy, im 16 and ive seen just about every horror film ever made they never scare me only the jump scenes make me jump, i like watching horror films as they are all diffrent some suck whilst other are fucking awsome Scream 1-4 are very good horror films :)

  • seen this movie when i was 12, didnt sleep for days...

  • I liked the movie, it wasnt perfect but there's some creepy scenes. The Mary Shaw character was awesome.

  • you said there were no "sustained terror" moments in Dead Silence, that's what the whole movie was! how about the part where they're in the motel and he tries to kill jamie? or the part where Henry gets caught by Mary Shaw in the cellar? I have to give you credit for getting the plot correct, you seem to be the only one who understood why Mary Shaw killed the families. I feel it was a good movie, maybe not a Saw type movie, but I liked Dead Silence better. Had good creepy moments not cheapscares

  • I think it depends on how bad dolls and ventriloquist dummies scare you.

  • billy maze??

  • @highkneegrows You mean infomercial guru and dead coke user Billy Mays? No, not Billy Mays or Maze.

  • I loved this review, very entertaining and hits all the points I hated about the movie. I reviewed it also : )

  • chuckys better

  • nah, if you had to be in the reality of the moment, trust me, you'd scream like a little bitch with a poker up her ass. Plus, I'm pretty sure that this evil entity doesnt just pull ugly faces, but invades your psyche and one would feel the fear from within. LIke a having a ssudden bad acid trip, but a hundred times worse. It's like being on a roller coaster. You know what's going to happen, but you still end up going WOOOOW! Same thing.

  • It was good, not scary but just pop up moments. Mary the woman reminded me of the excorist because she had the scatches over her face and the tongue. Its worth a watch but not as scary as they say it is. Your review is spot on:)

  • i think its a good movie to see with pretty young women.these ladies i saw the movie with liked the movie.if they are happy i'm happy

  • this movie freaked me out so f-ing much that i was hiding behind my popcorn bowl

  • Slappy the dummy was almost the same plot as this movie execpt no tounge ripping and killing lol

  • oh yeah goosebumps lol

  • I liked the movie though. I recommend it!

  • It scared me!!!!

  • I kind of agree with you Stan.

True it wasnt a totally scary movie and it only had a select few "boo" moments, but there are more scare tactics in movies than just those two.

It was old school horror just as it was described to be. And that means it was more thought provoking and able to linger in your mind because of its originality than its cheap scares.

I personally loved it because of how old school it was and how the ending was an awesome twist.

Dead Silence should get 3 guitars, not 1

  • I wasn't basing my grade on just the number of times I jumped in my seat. I was also basing it on the amount of dread or suspense I felt, which was lacking throughout most of the movie. Horror is, to me, more than gore, blood and guts, it's the feeling that something very bad is about to happen to a character and having enough positive feelings about that character to care. There was little suspense and I didn't care about the characters, so it gets one guitar.

  • Yeah, it was PRETTY bad. i hated it to death.

there were moments where i was like HOLY MAN, but otherwise it was boring

    and THAT IS SO TRUEE.

if they kept their stupid mouths shut, nothing would happen

  • dead silence wasnt as gory as i expected

    .. -

  • yeah dead silence was pathetic they cant make horror movies like they use. and kids like lame horror movie like this. this is the new stupid generation

  • Dead Silence was a suspense horror movie. It wasn't about gore and such which I appreciated.

It's one of those movies that sticks in your head after you're finished watching it. I'm one who lives alone, so when walking around at night to get something to drink after the movie is over kindof creeps you out when walking down the hallways or staring out some glass doors.

  • Really like the reviews, but you were "Dead Wrong" on Dead Silence. I think Dead Silence was great, it had plenty of scares (though you're right, no "BOO!" scares or "Sustained Scares" but then again, that is NOT the ONLY two types of scares. They're just the two most common.) The twist ending and the entertaining mystery that leads to that twist ending, makes the film worth watching.

  • good review and i totally agree with you the main characters always do the stupid things like when the doll says come closer and the idiots like okay:)

  • ........

  • ok dude do the world a favor and SHIT THE FUCK UP

god dam it. you talk shit on almost every movie as if you could make a better horror film. the only thing that would scare you is if they made a movie in witch McDolnads goes out of bussnies. insted of making some bullshit you-tube why dont you try to make a real show in hollywood...oh wait thats right its cuz they dont like fat mother fucker, go get a job and a life bicth

  • I couldn't help but notice your account was closed. And yet, mine is still open. Hmmm.

  • HAHA, nice comeback.

  • wat the heck! Dead Silence was AWESOME!!! wat do u think ur doin given it a 1!!! and there was more than 1 scary parts! i LUV scary movies and am usually nvr scared by em.... i found a few parts of this movie scary! but this movie was AWESOME!!! idk y would say it was bad! iv seen it twice already and want 2 c it again!

  • On an unrelated topic can you tell me what you thought of Cinderella man. I saw it recently on dvd and thought it was such an emotional, heartwrenching and fantastic movie. Just wondering about your professional opinion on the matter.

P.s. Saw dead silence in cinema with girlfriend. She hated it so much we had to leave it was that bad.

  • How could you not find this movie scary? It has creepy dolls man, creepy dolls.

  • I've seen it and there were 3 booms but I guess that's because I'm still 13 years old.
