I have a 29g w/28lbs of live rock but no seahorses as of yet. How long did you wait to put them in? I have 2 clowns, 4 snails & 1 emerald crab in there so far. I was holding off on the horsies till the tank matured a bit. Any advice?
@ices0lidmlg I don't have the tank anymore, but would be glad to help. I would personally get the clowns out of there. They are going to eat up the food before the seahorses get to them. I already had a running tank so I used everything from that to setup the seahorse tank. I did water changes with the water from my big tank. How long has your tank been setup?
@unttrmptplyr 1 of the clowns died but we bought a Red Sea MAX 130D so we're gonna do a seahorse tank in that w/strictly seahorses & pipefish. What kind of fish would you put in a seahorse only tank? I currently have a 29g set up (you can see videos on my page of it.) I have have the tank set up since Nov 13th 2011 weekend.

Can you give me some info on your tank set up? I am planning to set up a tank for seahorses. Tank size, sump info, lights, power heads and anything else you think I might need to know. Thanks
@trouts2009 The tank is only a 10 gallon. There is no sump, but if you keep up with water changes, it's not a problem. The light is just a fluorescent tube from the pet store, nothing fancy at all. There are no power heads either. You DO NOT want a lot of flow in a sea horse tank. They are very delicate and not strong swimmers. I just had a hang on the back filter. Very simple setup.
