I agree, the answer does ruin Persona 3 ending. Anyway, I guess you could be right. I thought the previous persona was a spiritual successor to the current ones. But remember, the protagonist came to the velvet before his potential was given a little push by Izanami. And if what you are saying is true that means everyone that had the potential such as Adachi has entered the Velvet room b4 his potential was pushed.

This is only a theory basing on the other persona games and the creators referencing "Philemon may or may have been involved, but he certainly was watching."

Maybe he was interested in Seta Souji, and probably knew that Nyarlotrep did some behind the work in Inaba, and needed someone who probably wasn't under his influence. Hence someone who was visiting Inaba.

The reason I say he might be involved is the blue butterflies that show up often, which is his eyes.

y'know, i have an idea. when souji falls asleep and dreams, he's in yomotsu hirasaka, which is the true final dungeon, and presumably encounters izanami. do you think it could've been philemon taking the guise of izanami to start souji off on the truth and show him the true enemy. nyarlothotep could've also influenced the minds of namatame and adachi to aid izanami in turning humanity into shadows to prove to philemon that humans can't be trusted

Im damn sure the protagonist encountered Philemon somewhere in his early life as a kid or early teenage years. You cant get into the velvet room until you have encoutered Philemon AKA the blue butterfly 1st. Looks like we need another sequel for P4 (P4 FES perhaps?) cuz the protagonist in this game lacks depth in his character, he deserves more. But too bad, I heard you guys aren't gonna make one for P4 :P

Explaining both Philemon and Nyarlathotep and the possibility of how both of them affected the Persona universe in less than 500 character count would be hard. The theory makes sense, but what I want to really know is wether the protagonist really encountered Philemon or not. I really want Persona 4 is to not only focuses on the development & background of minor characters in the game, but also the protagonist.

Igor sit in the middle facing you while Magaret and Elizabeth rowing the boat left and right,sailing on an ocean of unconsciousness.

When you ask Igor to fuse personas Igor would "fish" persona cards with his fishing rod then toss them into a cooking pot,and then a new persona has been fused!

The compendium would take form as a refrigerator.
