@Herolake yes,you are right, stories like this happen EVERY day.and if no one payed attention to those stories, like this,we'd all end up ignorant little assholes...YOU'RE nothing new son.
There's a fine line between comedy and tragedy... nothing I have ever heard or read demonstrates this better than Mike Destefano does here. If there is any comfort in his loss, it's knowing that he and Franny are reunited now...
Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment, one that will travel with me the rest of my life.
I first heard this story on the local NPR station and it just blew me away, never heard of Mike before but I found myself in tears listening to him tell his story of true love, and forgiveness...what an amazing human being...as a former addict and now hospice nurse I'm touched by his honesty and the love he had for Franny...namaste Mike DeStefano
that was fucking beautiful. Mike was a hilarious comic, i only discovered him yesterday and he was one of the funniest guys i have ever seen. If anyone here was moved by his story go and read a million little pieces by james frey, and then the sequel my friend leonard
I heard this on NPR, but didn't know who it was. Watching it and knowing and knowing how it ends...and that he's gone...probably the hardest 12 minutes of my life.
Comedians share their pain with the world in a unique way. Mike Destefano was absolutely amazing at that. Able to play the role of the tough guy but anyone with some experience knows he was actually a big sweet heart. I love you Mike, thank you for everything you gave us. Comedy is a sadder and lonelier place without you. No more pain my friend, you are free again. I love you and I miss you.
he seems like he would have been a great guy to have as a friend, he will be missed by all who watched this video i am sure. thankyou shoenice22 for offering me the pleasure of watching this clip.
@shoenice22 wow man, thanks for this. just wow, reminds me a alot about my past. im not the same age as these guys but my past is riddle with suicide and oding... seriously thanks man i needed this. (no sarcasm, the specs of dirt that randomly flew in my eyes during this proves it)
There aren't enough characters allowed in a YouTube comment to explain how this made me feel. I know this isn't the same situation, but I lost my ex boyfriend in 2008. I didn't go through the pain of him having a long term illness. I woke up with him dead in my arms to an overdose after battling an addiction that he just couldn't shake no matter how much I tried and tried to help him. I never tell people what happened, I never tell stories about him, I never tell people how happy he made me.
@belovedxtempest I'm too afraid of the pain it causes to even think about him. I'm absolutely terrified to. Watching this.. hearing in his voice the amount of suffering he went through knowing he would lose Franny and then ultimately losing her. Watching the pain in his eyes while he told the audience just tore me up inside. What an incredibly strong man. It makes me feel selfish not to tell people about the love I had because I'm too afraid of the pain after this man got up in front of an
@belovedxtempest entire audience and old everyone how much he loves this woman and how great it felt to live their dream, even though it was only for a short amount of time. This story helped me feel stronger and realize that I will feel horrible pain talking about my ex, but that's ok. He and Franny can't speak for themselves or show the world what they were like, so someone needs to do it to help them live on. He and Franny will live on forever in this beautiful, heartbreaking story. TY Shoe.
Chris Shewe, from the bottom of my heart, THAANNKK YOOUUU! This is not just a story of a man completing his dreams and his love's dreams. It is a life lesson to every single person in this CRUEL world and everyone who will ever live in it. Life is about hitting rock bottoms and moving past them only to be happy with yourself and the people around you. PLEASE RECOMMEND THIS VIDEO TO ANYONE YOU CAN! Thanks again shoenice22
Holy shit I didn't think this would effect me, but here I sit in tears. I don't cry either. Damn, what a story. I'm a person who has more or less lost faith in humanity being good, but here is a guy who is a wonderful person. A person obviously looked down on by society for his choices. But look at how much he loved her. I didn't think there were people left who felt real, raw emotion. Heres a perfect example of the good left in the world. Thanks shoenice. Great video.
