  • This tune and Brian Cant's voice.....just makes me want to curl up on the sofa, with Mr Bear and a cup of hot milk, Mum's voice drifting through from the kitchen....rain pattering on the window, warm and safe, not a care in the world, about five years old. Why do we have to grow up.

  • One word for this series: MONUMENTAL

  • just joined this internet lark and its sites like this makes all the troubles in this world vanish thankyou

  • WOW!! THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD I LIKE THIS SONG.

  • #Careful with that spliff Eugene it causes condensation!# :)

  • British Childrens TV in the 70's was a wonder

  • LOL at the smoke from the train.......thats what my cum looks like when I have a wank in the bath

  • The bit that always got me when I was a kid was the part before this, where the phone rang at the Hall, and the Butler answered it. You always knew they'd soon be going out on the train, which was always my favourite bit. Happy, happy days. Brian Cant should be knighted.

  • me too

  • @Thescratchguru Thanks! That would be me! ;D

  • Is there anything that can't be found on Youtube? We were talking about railways at work, started singing this to myself, couldn't remember the words. I thought I'll have a quick look for it, hey presto. Cheers.

  • Two people had a tragically misspent youth, poor buggers.

  • i loved this. afternoon show.

  • If it's not been said Half-man, half biscuit..

  • I drive trains too for freightliner......chigley...you sugar coated the job!!!

Still, very happy memories of this from when i was a nipper.

  • Wow, I'm 43 and I still know the words to this - dont ask me how! life was so much simpler as a little kid!.

  • what brian cant do is not worth knowing belive me

  • Brain Cant=legend!

  • Proper kids TV. Lovely guitar too.

  • This is my childhood. I grew up in the 90s watching and falling in love with it. I can still lose myself in this world of Chigley, Trumpton and Camberwick Green. All brilliant. I think they should start reshowing these to get a new generation to fall in love with it. xxx

  • Just magical, that guitar line brings back wonderful, warm, chidhood memories, mny thanks for uploading

  • Great - now what about a bit of Camberwick Green with Mrs Honey-what's-her-name - the gossipy one - have been looking for a clip of that but have found nothing so far.

  • clouds are cotton wool balls.

  • Brilliant!

  • I'm 6 years old again!

  • So many great memories from my childhood, love it.

  • Memories.....brilliant

  • Trumpton, Chigley, Camberwick Green. All wonderful reminders of a more innocent time Ah, if only we could go back!

Why do you pot heads always try to ruin such great memories?

These are good programmes with no bad language. Far more should be made of them, maybe then the world could be a friendlier place!

  • Got your ticket? Off we go, TOOT TOOT!

  • I want to live in Chigley, grow some dope in my garden and drink wine.

  • takes me back 2 teatime.lol

  • does anyone have the guitar tabs to this

  • my dad always says time flys buy when you're the driver of a train never knew it was a real song LOL!!!!

  • @captaincrap1995.. I've listened to Halfman half biscuit too..

  • Not when you are on the Houndslow Loop

  • Time flies by when you're a driver of a train,

Speeding out of Trumpton with a cargo of cocaine.

I get high when I'm a pilot of a plane.

    Touching down in Camberwick,

I’m stoned out of my brain.

Under bridges, over bridges, to our destination. Careful with that spliff, Eugene, it causes condensation.

  • @captaincrap1995 You were expecting a flood of thumbs up for this crap? Oh well.

  • 0:13 WHAT IS LORD BELBOROUGH DOING?!

    ATVmidlandsUK

  • love this

  • I played guitar on this track. Brian Cant is a lovely bloke!

  • @martynpank amazing. any tabs/music?

  • @rugshort Sorry Rugshort, I didn't play the Guitar! I was having a joke with someone! Wish I did! Brian Cant, still is a lovely bloke! Despite his Surname!! Don't know how Cockney you are!!!!!!! Regards & respect!

  • @martynpank I thought that accolade had been given to james Blount?

  • @rugshort LOL!

  • It speaks volumes for the human spirit that Lord Belborough's train line somehow survived Dr Beeching's axe!

  • With his understanding of the pressures of running a railway, his experience with integrated transport systems railways/canals, his business experience of having run his own biscuit factory and his excellent track record with staff relations, Lord Belborough should transport secretary rather than Lord Adonis.

  • Ahh, magical. Great memories, thanks for uploading!

  • @skyway73

    U're welcume!! :)

  • @one23dog He'd be right, now.

I think this is a good video for many people in different ages!

  • As a youngster, I was always fascinated by the puffy clouds of smoke regularly coming out of it's chimney top- bt thought the steam engine sounds were a bit over the top. Great tune tho.

  • I'm crying...

  • You're not alone. For people who saw these shows originally it seems to stir the deepest, warm childhood memories. The finest of all Childrens shows i think.

  • fantastic

  • Thx! ^_^

  • Wow. Thought there was another one with Trumpton and Camberwick Green and this tune! Yeah remember it well. Been a long time...Thanks! Terriff!

  • As a wee lad I loved trains and I still do. I used to love this song as well.

  • Thx! Yep! I agree! I would like to make a model of this steam loco, Bessie in G-scale, and film it in stop-frame animation! ^_^

  • It must be 35 years since I saw this and I still sing along!

  • Wow, what a blast from the past. Superb trip down memory lane. Thanks
