  • 0:56:10 I can't tell if this guy is about to start crying about how beautiful the cinematic was or

he's about to cry and kill all of them because of some odd reason haha

  • 0:03:59 Anybody else thinks he's soooo freaking nervous? haha listen to his speech. I don't blame him.

  • shut up and take my money.

  • How can I be a apprentice with minium wage pay?

  • this is sooooo fucking great

  • Who cares how long it takes, i prefer excellent quality cut scenes in my diablo 3

  • 40:32 that's a big one

  • Blizzard is so amazing cuz of sharing this info with us!

  • You can tell the game takes too long to release since announcement when they dedicate full hour on panel for 3 minute cinematic. There's nothing new to discuss, everything was announced and discussed already. Just hurry and release the game already.

  • what happened to the 30 000 bunnies exploding? did i miss it?

  • I just watched the whole thing

This whole process for a minute and a half long cinematic just shows how Blizzard seeks for quality even at the very little things. It's just amazing wow.

  • why the last design looks like typical fat american XD

  • if blizzard makes a movie... it would be as big as avatar :D cuz they want quality

  • the modelling guy should be fired, Belial is terrible

  • I wish the cinematics were in the beta, I freak'n love this game. SC2 and now Diablo 3, Blizzard is back and just killing it with awesomeness. Woot! =) I can't wait till this game launches early next year.

  • Thank you, Blizzard. You have taught me a lot just by watching this for my future. :D

  • There is no price too high for what I would pay to see a full movie made my the Blizzard cinematic team. They don't only make cutscenes and cinematics, they make quality cutscenes and cinematics!

  • one company that actually understands the importance of color with respects to art is blizzard, color is s important as it engages mood in the brain with perception of feelings, which is precisely why black and white stuff have the same vibe wether its happy sad horror comedy whatever

  • @virginboy92 wise words. Thats actually a big reaon why games started to get boring about year 2000, they started using more technology and lost the sense of simplicity to art. Achieve moods and effects with good selection of shape and color and also sounds

  • Check our website about Diablo 3 video & co at gameside.tv =)

  • For animators I just wanted to say that Skupltris is a free 3D program which is very similar to Zbrush and Mudbox. Pretty easy to learn, but takes time to master.

  • @1ceB0xxx ROFL Zbrush and Mudbox are not even for animation

  • @unprofessionalvids so what whould you call it, just for pics? I dont know about you but I use alot of the stuff I make in Zbrush in Maya. Just moving the file over to the Maya where it's much easier for me to make a animation out of it. But you're probably right. My statment about Zbrush and Mudbox is for animation is so very wrong. Thank you for point it out.

  • Man the eye still looked so real

  • No matter how many soul stones you destroy or how many demons you slay blizzard will throw more and more clone demons and different colored stones at you till diablo franchise dies eventually.

  • @TheodenN They said that this is the last Diablo game they are making, aside for expansions.

  • I was bored already when he said hello

  • @TheodenN Yeah, it looks like diablo 3 has gotten a bit more soft , diablo 2 was straight to the point evil.Hopefully it won't disappoint. :)

  • eh guys just wanna ask wat kind of editor did they use??

  • @t2pher90 not an editor, a 3d program, probably either 3ds max or Maya 2012 as the modeler, and a variety of other plugin programs.

  • @sheerfe4rstudios

He explains clearly that uses Mudbox and Zbrush

  • God i hope someday i''ll be apart of this asociation damn i love damn they always make me happy because ilove blizzcon games

  • When the fuckin hell is it coming out? i was in high school playing Diablo two now i have two kids a wife and the fuckin dog to come along with it.

  • @warriorwithin24 yeah i know man hilarious shit .. why cant they just announce when it will fucking come out T_T

  • Storyboard that bitch!!! hell yes.

  • In what program they made Azmodan rigging?

  • @mrggies 3DStudioMax all the waaaay!

  • guy in the middle -> zit popping gone wrong

  • So does blizzard have their own animation studio? Or do they have to work with other studios like blur?

  • @kurogane2x Blizzard has their own animation section. They've had it since Starcraft I (which was the first game to have cinematics made by themselves). Heard it in the Sc I documentation :)

  • @kurogane2x Not a separate studio but a different dept called BFD (Blizzard Film Department).

  • @Radiation4TheNation Oh I see... They really should expand on that department :D and get some sponsor to make a movie :D or a short film

  • The 1st speaker sounds so nervous O.o

  • Oh Blizzard, one day I'll be working there

  • @Mell1305 Do they pay well in Blizzard and is it a friendly free environment ?

  • Blizzard is so good at making trailers

  • God the questions are so stupid. Fucking fans don't know what they're talking about and just ask for more things to be made. MAKE THIS AND MAKE THIS. stfu ask a real question. They should filter or select questions

  • That voice.... Dr. Hanson?

  • Great job, very nice to see how you work guys. Especially i like this "color script", artist who made this has awesome skill in paiting.

    I enjoyed the vid, thanks

  • I wish people would at least appreciate that work and talent that goes into blizzard's work.

  • blizzard = the master race of cinematics!

  • @nadenitza Ubisoft does it better in my opinion.

  • @thewaysh lolwut? Ubi doesn't do any pre-rendered cinematics. It's Digic that does their cinematics.

  • @Radiation4TheNation Can you give me more information on who who made AC Brotherhood then?

    Thanks.

  • D3 all the way, going to roflstomp the originals.

  • That was just amazing. The amount of detail that goes into their work is phenomenal. I'm amazed.

Thinking back to how good the D2 cinematics looked 10 years ago, and how good these look, I never thought something would be able to amaze me like that again, but they did it.

  • 01:29

Distorted Wilhelm scream? I hope so.

  • @Nudz Think you're right. Good ears!

  • So cool

  • 14:40 who pierced his nippel? :D poor guy...

  • hihi , chin wang! :P WANG:P lol

  • Just a question why didn't they make him extend his front legs to the front and rise his back legs so that he can bend in a natural way ? that would be more reasonable that making a fat top body bend like lady gaga doing some crazy shit?

  • THUMBS DOWN

  • man i don't envy these guys.. seems like a hell boring job.

  • @Klistern2 i dont envy golfers, seems like a hell of a boring sport

  • wow, look at graphic! Imaging if Sim games in that kind of graphic...

  • @SkullCapper

You'll need a nuclear powered PC for the game to run in that magnitude. Not to mention a large powerful cooling system as cold as outerspace.

  • One of the best panels I've watched from blizzcon, but the questions were lame...

  • holy shit

  • 1 hour just to explain a 30 secondish cinematic...

well now we know why blizzard dun make movies

  • @TheMexican02 Hah, yeah animation on this level is a huuuuge process. Look at the dates around 28:04 they go back to over a year ago and even that is quite far into the development!

  • @VerityD3 1) blizzard creates the scene out from nothing, every item need to be rebuild in details. Into considering the cost, using real-life & 3D animation combination should be more economic ; 2) if they are really going into making a movie, stuffs will be re-used. And their experience, should speed be increase.

You might think that they took a lot of time to make this cinematic, but don't forget that they made others in the same time as well.

  • @TheMexican02 dude 30 secondish is like 30-45 seconds but this cinematic is like 3 minutes, not a very good estimate

  • @TheMexican02 30 seconds? Really. Wow. Try about 3 minutes. 6 times longer than you thought! And as VerityD3 said, animation on that level is HUGELY complex. The teams working on this aren't like what a major studio like Pixar has. It's amazing stuff they do.

  • @TheMexican02 Actually, the soul stone cinematic is closer four minutes. There was about 20 seconds in the intro trailer, and the rest released at blizzcon was about a minute and a half.

They didn't show the whole cinematic in this video.

  • @TheDualEconomist yes bad estimate i get it -,-, i was like half way into the video n didnt feel like goin back to check

  • @TheMexican02 they they probably are making a movie just were not gonna know it for another 4 or 5 years lol

  • @TheMexican02 They are making movies -- It's just not their highest priority.

  • @OfficialMindWarp and where did u hear that?

  • @1dontlook2 From two animators who work for Blizzard. Both of them are graduates from my college and did workshops at the college about a year ago.

  • This is the shit!!! everything was kick-ass until that dumb-ass dip-shit at the end asking DUH DO YOU TAKE FROM OTHER MOVIES" what a cheese-dick!!! Blizzzzzz rocks!!

  • when an high class expert like this says they "worked hard" you have no idea what that means...they probably had no life for months and months haha :P

  • WHERE'S ALL THEIR DIABLEARDS?!

  • Where are my 30k exploding bunnies?

  • and thats when that punk got fired for fucking around with fucking words

  • lol at the Leahs long pink nails in concepts

  • Asian's are awesome xDa

  • "Diablo 3 is fucking awesome." Exactly my thoughts

  • owww, azmodan is really cute XD

  • THANKYOU

  • Dang I would love to be a concept design artist...but the animation and texture looks a bit insane and tedious. Still bang on.

  • amazingly impressive. I feel like a total noob checking out this masterpiece.

  • So much work go into these. I wanna say that, in the end, they don't matter much to the game but then D2's amazing cinematics are still a vivid part of my imagination when I remember that game.

  • @doe791 Sure is. I think Blizzard's cinematics just are the best addition that just adds that extra awesomeness to their already awesome games! It's usually one of the things I look forward to the most when playing through their games for the first time.

And this one is just amazing, can't wait for the all the full ones in the game!

  • @doe791 DONT MATTER MUCH, do you known what these are these are the reason blizzard is as popular as it is, the attention to lore/detail and making people talk about their cinematics is worth at least half their profits

  • @doe791 I still prefer the incredible D2 cinematics ....they were so full of atmosphere .

This cinematic is only pretty well rendered and thats all ....i dont like that fat frog demon no match for BaaL , Diablo , Mephisto ...real villains.

  • This was probably the most awesome & interesting Diablo III panel @ Blizzcon this year. Great work by everyone on the cinematics team.

    Thanks for the upload!

  • video games will look like cinematics today in the future and so on. Its incredible!

  • @Vonstuker4 Yep, you gotta love the future :)
