What makes this segment so funny is precisely the fact that the two ladies are not very good at it. That gives Ryan and Colin the opportunity to create the humour. When the audience members are good at doing the effects it's nowhere near as hilarious, even though it still might be reasonably funny. That's why Drew Carey deliberately chooses older women who may be a bit shy and awkward with the situation rather than men, or more confident looking younger women.
