If we are standing at a fixed point on moon the earth will always be seen at the same point except its rotation on axis. Like we see Sun and Moon rising, There is no earth rising on moon as shown.

@nasskobar There is gravity on the moon. anything that has mass has gravity. the moons gravity on the surface is one sixth that of Earths. the reason astronauts don't feel gravity in space is because they are in free fall, and are falling at the same rate as their spacecraft. when they land on something, and are no longer in free fall, they feel the gravity of whatever they are on(earth, moon, etc.)

This would be impossible because the moon does not rotate thus any point that you are standing on (on the moon) you will see the same view of the earth as the earth rotates. Remember we never see the dark side of the moon because it don't rotate.
@trabyjones Ah, correction. The moon does rotate, but it is tidally locked to Earth so it only ever shows the Earth one 'face'. There is no dark side because as the moon phases change, sunlight will hit the other side. This is when we have a crescent or new moon.

The Earth is visible for about 50 seconds in the video. Multiply 50 seconds*0.28 miles/second to get 14 miles. So the Earth rotates a total of 14 miles during the video. From 238000 miles you will not be able to see a rotation of 14 miles. Trouble with people like you and a lot of others calling it fake is you don't THINK.
there is a big mistake with light, if Earth is completely seen the sun must be right behind the camera, but then there would be long shadows of every little rock on the Moon surface.

@bovoice There`s no stars visible because sunlight both direct and reflected off the moon,is so much brighter,it`s light pollution.the moon is very reflective,hence why it`s so bright in the night sky.It`s the same reason why there`s no stars on the Apollo moon landing photos,the light drowns out the stars.You can test this yourself.If you go outside tonight and take a picture of the moon,there will be no stars in the image.

One more thing could help you: load the whole video and then watch it by jumping every 10 seconds ahead. You will see the spacecraft (Kaguya) was in lunar orbit.
The same ignorance as you demonstrate here, leads many people to believe NASA faked Moon landings because sadly, many people don't understand how images taken in space look like.

@BlisterHiker I still don't believe this is real: there are no stars; the Earth is completely still all the way through (the orbit around the moon should take enough time for some Earth rotation, weather and sun exposure change); the Earth is also a perfect circle which we all know is not, and even if it was, for that to happen the light should have had hit the planet exactly from the place we are watching or behind, and that would cause an eclipse that's not there.

@olhavracsiul Again with the stars?Why expect stars? The camera has the exposure set to capture the earth and the lunar surface, without overexposure. You never see stars in the footage from the ISS either, unless they set the exposure to capture dim lights, like the Aurora Borealis. As for the other things you mention; sorry, but you're very wrong. This footage is as real as it gets. Funny how its always youtube "experts" who see fake footage, and never the real experts.Dont jump to conclusions

(The person who posted the video got the name wrong) It was launched September 14, 2007 and was inserted into orbit on October 3rd 2007. It circled the moon until June 10 2009 when is was puposely crashed into the moon.

@DollarTaco there are no stars visible because if the camera was adjusted to capture them, the sunlight reflected from the lunar surface and the earth would completely wash everything else out, because it is so much brighter than starlight.

@dmh497 the Astronauts couldn't see the stars from the surface because they landed in daylight, the sun's light was too bright for them to see stars. had they landed on the night side, or stayed about 2 weeks until the sun set, they'd have seen them.

@Sashomei Try a little math. The Earth rotates at about 1000 miles/hour. Divide that by 3600 seconds in an hour. That gives you about 0.28 miles/second for the rotation. The Earth is visible for about 50 seconds in the video. Multiply 50 seconds*0.28 miles/second to get 14 miles. So the Earth rotates a total of 14 miles during the video. From 238000 miles you will not be able to see a rotation of 14 miles. Trouble with people like you and a lot of others calling it fake is you don't THINK.

there is a big mistake with light, if Earth is completely seen the sun must be right behind the camera, but then there would be long shadows of every little rock on the Moon surface.
I'm sorry but I can't keep my mouse away from the dislike button, there are so many wonderful and REAL pictures/videos of that view that this is completely SUPERFLUOUS.

I've just realised that if we can see the moon in great detail through out telescopes, then anyone (?) on the moon can zoom into earth and even see us moving about and make up a whole map of earth and population, countries and all! A sobering thought somehow!
