Japanese admire simplicity, which is why their instruments and chord progressions are inherantly simple. It doesn't mean it is any less captivating than what Mozart wrote.

Nothing you say makes sense. Cultural value can't be measured in statistics. It's not about one country "owning" another. They each have something to contribute, they each inspire one another. Europe is a collection of different cultures, Japan is one country. For such a small land mass they have achieved incredible feats in engineering and science, and are among the most efficient countries in the world. You sound like you have a lot of growing up to do.

Japanese paintings weren't flat because the artists didn't understand perspective, they were drawn that way due to the principle of "the floating world' (Ukiyo); an idea meant to convey an unfixed dream-like state. The Europeans had their own ideals and strove for realism, but that doesn't make their art anymore valid. The Japanese were just as capable of drawing realistic portraits, it just wasn't on their agenda.

In the 1800s European art became hugely influenced by the flatness of Japanese prints; you can research artists like Degas and Monet to see what I mean. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but I just don't see how you can call an art form and culture that has had such a huge impression on Western art, fashion and film. and which is responsible for some of the most magnificent architectural marvels in the world "shit".

Nothing you say makes sense. Cultural value can't be measured in statistics. It's not about one country "owning" another. They each have something to contribute, they each inspire one another. Europe is a collection of different cultures, Japan is one country. For such a small land mass they have achieved incredible feats in engineering and science, and are among the most efficient countries in the world. You sound like you have a lot of growing up to do.
