Thanks for putting so much work into making this and PB's ambitious G3 so much more playable. I think I'll finally pick up G3:FS now.

Aside from some flaws in the engine (especially the way animations work), there's little reason to make an enhanced edition of the first two Gothic games. They've stood the test of time incredibly well.

I preferred the combat system before the patch. Giving the NPCs godlike shield blocking abilities that you can never break [Thanks to their stamina being removed] is completely stupid.

Also, you will only make back 1/10th of the money you spent on getting your pickpocketing skills to "Impossible" level. Training in the pickpocket skills should require minimal thieving skill and be very cheap. Spend 10 grand on pickpocketing to make back 1 grand. lol stupid.

Is there anyway to get rid of the "Quick Evade" move? My instinct in gothic 3 is to tap the right mouse button for a quick attack with the sword. Now, the hero jumps around like a money?

Please tell me theres a way to stop this or rebind it so I don't have to use it.

In the Forsaken Gods, original devs took out Nordmar and Varant. WTF? I am not playing this downgraded game. Unless... unless it turned out to be veeery good. By very good I mean glitchless and have interesting story and quests. And if you guys took care of that SuperBoar, it probably worth a try.

@FrantACs I vaguely remember starting the second game, getting past the tutorial bit and then wandering into the woods and promptly being slain :'(

That said I'm hooked on Gothic 3 atm, once you get past the technical difficulties ie the suttering when loading a new area it's brilliant.

Dude they did! Gothic 3 community patch 1.74 fixes almost all bugs. And it's perfectly playable!

@GLEe1231 Lul that patch did more than that, it added HDR and anti-aliasing and a slew of other awesome graphics tweaks. Also beefed up the gameplay, as you said :D

And that too. Yea gameplay is much more harder with Alternative A.I, and better. As well in FG now. Been playing FG Enhanced and can't win arena fight. :O So much harder >.< btw playing it on hard, but still... xD

Well dude that is a matter of taste :P I played it completed it many times. :P Yea it lacks story depth, story in G2 was much better, but still it's a great game. Beautiful world, good magic system, and so on. :P It's just a matter of taste :P

I am glad to hear it was enough for you, but for me the lack of attention to detail, which has always highlighted the Gothic games, killed the game.

@acreeful You could've heard that music in Gothic 3, when you stood not far from the Capital at a stone circle... it's a short trip from Ardea to that stone circle. That music was even used in one of the first trailers for Gothic 3.

Is it good? Would you recommend the game? I never played a Gothic game but this trailer looks appealing for me.

Some things I wish to have in a game like this:

- full and free explorable World witch much to find and many secrets

- a good combat system

- a fair but demanding difficulty

- a good Button-Layout/ Control system

- awesome and unique Quest and Plot

In how far does the Game fullfill my expectations?

You should play Gothic 3 Enhanced edition. Than, play FSG enhanced.

@SupremeSareth Play Gothic 1, 2 and 3 first... and judge the gamaplay, music and story. You most likely will hate the graphics in Gothic 1 and/or 2... but I thing those games are awesome. Awesome graphics don't make a game good... It's the gameplay that does. That's what I recommend for you to do. And by the way, Forsaken Gods is not made by the same studio as the last - Gothic 3 - was.

@Thet3 Gothic 3 definitely...Arcania is a dissapointment...But it would be much better if you started from Gothic 1...
