Mama Cass has a better look than adele and Mama Cass is dead and supposedly there are 2 thoughts on how she died, she either choked to death on a Ham Sandwhich, or she had a heart attack, but I think she choked to death while eating a ham sandwich but was caused by a heart attack, sadly I wish she was still alive she had a better voice than adele anyday of the year
Great group. Magical song..The fact that one of them was a sicko who repeatedly had sex with his own daughter just proves even a despicable bastard has talent.
Sounds AMAZING! Hey, Check out THE SUBJECTIVE PERSPECTIVE. An amazing duo who wrote a song called Dead Peasant Uprising. CHECK THIS SONG OUT!!! This song has been taking Americans back to an inspired view of the working class and the 99%. Many have revered this as an anthem for the 99%. Google em'...treat yourself and enjoy!!!
HOLY FUCK- A 22 MINUTE, 23 SECOND GOD FORSAKEN ADVERTIZEMENT? WHO IN THE FUCK KEEPS DOING THIS SHIT TO THIS SONG? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? DIDN'T YOUR MOTHER LOVE YOU AS A CHILD?
Is the fat one the one who died choking on a ham sandwhich? or was that a different band? btw love this song... reminds me of summer... i would always hear it on the beach =P
i don't wish i was born in the sixties...i wish i was born in the fifties so i could have been old enough to enjoy and appreciate the music made. more than i do now.
I'm not going to say"I wish i was born in the 60s"Or any shit like that. But this is one of the best songs ever made. And i can't believe that 49 people disliked it.
@mzbgwkk I am 58 years old and last October I finally got to see California. Me and my wife rented a car in Las Vegas and drove to LA. But when we crossed the state line into California I got out of the car and right in the middle of the dessert I danced and sang "California Dreaming" My wife who already knows I am nuts just sat in the car and laughed, When I got back in the car I looked at her and said "now I know California really exists".
@Appleholic1 Nice story...but for me, who has lived in California all my life, I am trying to figure out a way to leave this place....maybe Georgia or Alabama....Nonetheless, glad you felt happy here...btw...when you crossed the stateline, after about an hour into your drive, you passed by my home...go figure...did I hear you singing..LOL

@suv101101 don't be surprised if you come out here and say, 'is that it?'. No joke. The place kinda' sucks. I live 30 min. away from Hollywood Blvd and it's gangmember heaven. If you must visit CA, go to San Francisco. Much better for tourists. Just sayin'.
@Appleholic1 Yeah. I was there in San Francisco at the Penhandle back in 1969 and all the kids were waiting for something with pimples on their faces and the "happening" that never came. It was like a balloon you stick a nail in, it was gone.
@ginastefania1 I have to say you are not so much right ;) I am 30 and thanks to those kids (or better their music and video footage that stayed after them and history which...yes you are kind of right is sad) I am like I am...I am carrying with my self melancholic feeling of times I never lived, of revolution that never happened, love that lived only one summer and was gone after...I would be different if not them, my children would be different if not them...Jah Bless!
@Appleholic1 that was so cool and sweet! God bless you both and I can imagine the years you've spent together and this music playing how life has changed and your spirit is there and all of your splendours!
I hear this song and I am transported to my 5th grade class, falling asleep because I spent the early part of the morning delivering The Miami Herald through the dark and scary streets of Miami Springs.
John may have indeed been the key,but Cass Elliot was the last piece of the puzzle. FUNNY NO HITS FOR THEM AFTER ELLIOT WENT SOLO.SO WHO WAS THE BRAINS?WHAT A SET OF PIPES,CASS,RIP
@beggin1967 The hits stopped coming after John and Cass found out that Michelle and Denny were having an affair. The four kept trying to make the group work, but the strain couldn't be overcome. They split for good after the Monterey Pops festival in 1967.
@beggin1967 Have to agree Mama Cass was the driving force behind the group ..... they even admitted it in a documentary many years later ..... sad sad loss
These guys had such a great sound! Shame Mama Cass died so young. One of her solo numbers was 'Dream a Little Dream'. BTW got to love those 60s fashions ...
@MoosicandCritters its true: the sandwich was a local mom and pop delicatessan special order rather big with alternate layers of ham swiss cheese more ham and four fired eggs a few bits of lettuce and one tomato served on a french roll bread bageutte dripping with poured on butter it was a sumpteous feast for four people or a light snack for cass elliot
@auntyangela Her name is Cass Elliott. They called her Mama Cass. She sang some solo stuff too, like "Make Your Own Kind of Music". It was especially hard for her to have and show such confidence when she was always labeled "the fat one" or "fat lady", as you did - even still today. But her name remains a legend to music lovers - "Mama Cass"
@jephybean Mama Cass was always the shining star of the group. Of the people in the group, she's the one who's remembered. Incredible voice, incredibly missed.
@jephybean Technically her name was Ellen Naomi Cohen, but I do agree with you. Nobody born after 1960 or so could appreciate how she and the group could open their mouths and take you to a whole different place.
@snoopatomicdog Someones momma didn't give you enough attn. or she only let you suckle from one teet. Either way I am guilty of providing you with about 30 sec. of attention, way to much cupcake.
@auntyangela you're the one dreaming if you think that the fat lady is the key to the band. her name was Cass Elliot, aka Mama Cass. She was the last member of the group to join. The key to the group was the tall gentleman playing the guitar, John Phillips. He was the brains behind the group as he was the main influence behind writing and producing their music. The beautiful woman is Michelle Phillips, John's wife. The other guy in the group is Denney Doherty, a Canadian (rock on!).
