@lulem400 It's from Always starring Richard Dreyfus and Holly Hunter. It's a remake of a movie called A Guy Named Joe. Not a bad flick. I never mind watching airborne Catalinas. They remind me of albatroses.

@David279300 yep the catilina was not designed just to float on the hull in the middle and be stable so you have to have some way to balance the plane while it's ont he water.

Yeah, that's from the movie Always, where the firefighting plane is filling up with water by skimming the lake.

If you look again, you will see the orange paint on the tail and wing tips, a firefighting plane's marking.
