  • his mind is outstanding! how does he come up with this things..?!

  • @allanwho1 I got a friend to listen to Hazard Profile back2back with another guitar player(unfair I know). My friend said of the other...."that he's brain was empty". And this is the point with Allan he's mind is full of ideas.

  • I love this, similar to the mesh boys, both of which are good.

  • I was at this show! This is quite awesome, esp. he did some awesome chordal thing i didnt know the name of between songs. Now I can re-hear it and be in bliss! :D

  • It must be amazing being Allan, i couldn't imagine just picking up the guitar and playing something amazing that i had hardly practiced and just read the chord sheet.

Allan goes out there every night with hardly any practicing with just his amazing methods of phrasing and blows everyones find.

He is definatelly one of the greatest of all time and is my joint favourite of all time of with Shawn Lane.

  • @trevskiw2008

It would be a burden as well.

  • cool at 0:04 shaking his hands lol !

The master him selve doesn't have to be scared at all ,there is knowone i.t.w. who could reach his gift.

  • Yeah when he does that it's like mwwaaaahahahhaha time to destroy every earthling with my alien god guitar powers !!!

  • @uzzz you know whats crazy, one of my friends saw him and said he always apologizing for messing up and is really self conscious at times. Makes me feel a whole lot more at ease on stage when I know this guy gets nervous .

  • @DylanGalvinMusic yes me too ! cheers!

  • This guy is my hero.

  • I can guess.

I know on his Carvin signature guitar that the pickups are their lowest output humbuckers. Kinda below like duncan 59s. That is what I have read on their forums anyway.

So my guess is he likes low output passives for his reasons.

  • Back to the Steinberger again... Lovely.

Has any1 read or heard of why he prefers Seymour Duncans to original EMG's?

  • I think from memory, he doesnt like the magnetic pull from higher output pickups. I think he also prefers distortion from the amp, and i think that higher output pickups may induce pre-amp distortion (?). Although having said that, i think these days his lead sound comes from magic stomps. At the end of the day he'd still sound like AH if he played on a danelectro with lipstick pickups through a tiny smokey amp :o)

  • He also said he prefers lower output pickups because he feels they tend to give more of the "wood" sound than just a pickup sound. I tend to agree with him. I also think they are a bit more dynamic than some high outputs, but thats just my opinion. And yes, Allan could play a cigar box guitar through a 2 inch speaker---still Allan!!!! LOL
