The fishes arent annoying. They are flying in circles while ur hitting the monster X [well thats what they did for me] and then while the monster X is running you can kill the fishes with polar star.

I did this boss when i had 35 lifes and owned him with 20hp left

Those fish missiles are kind of annoying. But try beating him with 3 HP. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING kills you. The gaudis kill you, the treads kill you, the projectiles kill you, the fish missiles kill you.

The only good strategy is keeping him on one end, fire one Lvl 3 blade when he stops and RUN LIKE HELL! At the end, turn around and fire at the projectiles with Polar Star.

The fish missiles are faster than you, but the Lvl 3 Blade hitbox is partially behind you, so it's doable.

Both this boss and the Core are probably harder than Ballos. The only thing that makes Ballos hard is that he comes directly after the hardest area in the game with no save points or health refills.

@FlyingPigBoy So the fact that he has four forms, does ten damage every attack means nothing? The core's two fights were easy the only problem i had was with the first one due to the flooding.

@ichgo333 I decided to do a little hacking, and placed myself right in front of Ballos without going through Hell first. The fight was actually very easy when I hadn't taken all that prior damage in Sacred Grounds.

I actually got a near perfect run of hell with the exception of a -8 from the heavy press boss, I even had the life pot from earlier, no matter what I can't get past balos's third form. maybe I just suck at boss's. But with monster X all I had to do was jump over his treads and spam the sword up.

Problem is it isn't immediately obvious how to damage it for some of us (I didn't realize there were those four turret things blocking my attacks for instance), or what weapons to use. Then those fish missles... Those frickin fish missles...

God, I'm in the middle of trying to beat this game with 3hp/minimal items. I beat it including the hell ending before, got a time of about 5:30 on hell and then decided i wanted to try to 3hp it..

...you think this boss is hard with 30 hp? Try it with 3. He's a fucking monster. The core was also hard, right now I just saved curly...I'm not looking forward to four forms of the doctor in a row...WITH 3HP..

It is the bubble gun. You get it by using jellyfish juice on the fireplace in the main mimaga town. It is pretty crappy unless it is level 3, and even then there is usually something else that works better.

Hey, it's a hard boss. He doesn't "suck". However, you probably shouldn't post videos unless you did something special that makes your fight more impressive or harder than normal, like a 3 HP run or using only the bubbler--most of us who've played the game beat that boss eventually under at least normal circumstances.
