She even start a choir at D5, which is a high note. The Falsetto performed on the bridge is wonderful. She has a very melodious voice and a great vocal range. I believe that the failures of tone that has sometimes is because of shortness of breath and that's the only matter in this perfomance. I'm a music teacher.

It's not that she can't sing...but I think her management pushed and still is pushing her to sing these poppy songs, that dont fit her voice. I think she should find types of music that fits her voice, but can still stay the same Britney. She even said early in her career she wanted to sing contemporary but her management pushed for pop..and she just rolled with it. She can still have hit singles and not sing that type of pop music

I never denied this was in the past, and my first comment here was made months before she sang You Oughta Know, WHICH, if it was in fact live (no proof yet), means that she improved greatly and I'm happy for her. In case you don't know, I've been a fan of hers for 10 years now.

I'm so glad I heard this, I've watched this preformance somewhere else on youtube, but she was lipsyncing, but this version is so much better. agreed , i think to make Britney Spears a respectable entertainer, she and her team should make a song with the same depth as Everytime, but the same strength as Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman - I think her falsetto voice in everytime is beautiful, but it shows more ability to sing songs like not a girl not yet a woman - they just need to find a perfect song and she needs to train vocally on it and then preform it and that would be really good for her career.

Britney only sang shadow live a few times, when I saw this show in London she mimed every song except everytime. She never sang Shadow live over here as far as i know :(

@BSfan3 Personally, even when singers have a bad voice live I give them the credit for actually doing it. Like Katy Perry, love her, but her voice isn't always so strong but she does go for it so credit for her.

It's not that she can't sing...but I think her management pushed and still is pushing her to sing these poppy songs, that dont fit her voice. I think she should find types of music that fits her voice, but can still stay the same Britney. She even said early in her career she wanted to sing contemporary but her management pushed for pop..and she just rolled with it. She can still have hit singles and not sing that type of pop music

I do agree that You Oughta Know was pretty good and if it was actually live that's great, but it's 5 years later, isn't it? Doesn't change the fact that she sucked bad in this video.

Singing is not just about hitting notes, it's also about holding them. Her voice here is not tired, it's just completely unprepared and amateurish.
Believe whatever you want, but anyone who knows anything about music will say her voice is not good, at least not in this particular performance.

I never denied this was in the past, and my first comment here was made months before she sang You Oughta Know, WHICH, if it was in fact live (no proof yet), means that she improved greatly and I'm happy for her. In case you don't know, I've been a fan of hers for 10 years now.
So why can't you just accept that her singing here was poor, the high notes were laughable and her voice was completely awful? It's just true, unless you're completely tone deaf.

I'm so glad I heard this, I've watched this preformance somewhere else on youtube, but she was lipsyncing, but this version is so much better. I mean, her voice isn't really the best, or really that good at all, but we're already too deep in love with her that is doesn't matter lol. And on top of that, you can tell that her power range is very minimal but sounds so nice, like the higher parts, she seems to have no control over the low parts :( but I, again, don't care, I love britney spears!!

agreed , i think to make Britney Spears a respectable entertainer, she and her team should make a song with the same depth as Everytime, but the same strength as Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman - I think her falsetto voice in everytime is beautiful, but it shows more ability to sing songs like not a girl not yet a woman - they just need to find a perfect song and she needs to train vocally on it and then preform it and that would be really good for her career.

i love her.but she should go back&take voice lessons... as a child she had such a pretty voice. then when she got her record deal they made her change her voice cuz it wasnt commercial enuf. every since she's been singing in her commercial voice she hasnt been singing w/proper technique.& smoking has made it worse.the pitch was all over the place, lot of glottal stops&the air support lacked in a lot of areas. if she just goes back&takes basic lessons it'll make a huge difference. love u brit:-)

Britney only sang shadow live a few times, when I saw this show in London she mimed every song except everytime. She never sang Shadow live over here as far as i know :(

you do realize that none of this has actually do with Britney. None of the creative input, the costuming, the choreography, the tissue-ing (those dudes on the sheets hanging from the ceiling).
Maybe the only thing that's hers is the out-of-key singing.
But I do agree -- brilliant show!
