I'm not an expert when it comes to train horns, but I do know a great recording when I hear one. Bloody nice work, very well done. I'll listen to this repeatedly next time insomnia gets the better of me, as these put me right to sleep same as they did when I was very young.
Actually, that's the same K-5HLL as in the first clip. I took the clip minutes after I took the first one, as the train was passing a closer rail crossing.
i think the first is a minorly fouled K5HL. at first it didnt sound bad at all. but u could tell it was a bit weird sounding in the 2nd clip. but definitely a K5HL. and the 5th sounded like some kind of hybrid.
I wonder if it might be a K5-HLL horn. When I compare the two, the K5-HLL seems to have more of a minor chord, unlike the K5-HL. The 3 bell still is a bit fouled either way.
I love these horn recordings! I remember the second gen k5LA's alot in Orlando. They're really creepy, especially from the leaving sound.

@dangerella76 I'm not too close, actually. I don't go there very often.

2nd clip was of a K5H horn. Very common up in Canada.

yep. thats probably my 3rd favorite horn, ahead of the K5HLL and behind the RS3L and RS5T.
