  • Getting back into fighting shape again, after being on hiatus from the SCA for about 3 years. Can't wait to put the armor on and hit someone again!

  • you can join the east coast meaga weekend

    go East kingdom

  • oh man cant wait till i finish gettin all my armor together turned 17 this year... OUTLANDS!!!!!! WHOO!!!

  • where does this take place? what city?

  • @aiteefore84 florence AZ

  • BLAAAACK TAAAALON!

You can see my head sticking up from behind one of the shields.

  • Wow, just the *sound* of the rattle and clacking of armour as the units move to engage after the lay-on. God, I love that sound! :)

  • I've always wanted to join but have never realy had the balls to just show up to some random meeting of ppl. I'd prolly fall into Canton of Rimsholt, or Canton of Three Hills, from teh Kingdom Of The Middle. All i have to wear is the chainmail i've made. No 'authentic/handcrafted' tunic or anything so im not gunna show ap and be mocked. :/

    .....

However, maybe one day i will yet see you on the field.

Brizen:~May only honor guid your blade.~

  • Hey the SCA principle is to 'make an attempt at period costume... Shoot a mail to your local group and see how friendly they are, usually they have a 'chatelaine' who's job is to help out new people, and groups often will sort loaner gear so people can come and see before they go spend moolah on garb. The fact you've *made* mail(!) put's you waay ahead of the norm. Give it a shot, seriously, it's waay to much fun to miss! :)

  • @RickmanSlickman, nobody is going to mock you brother. We all were new at some point. The only thing that would happen is that you may be able to suit up and fight that day. Or at least make friends that will show you the ropes.

  • The Best way to find out what your local kingdoms policies are is to contact them. Vomear you are mostly correct.

  • SCA all the way!

  • Thank you so much for posting the whole fight. I will be watching this a few more times.

    I love the SCA!!!

  • I"m hoping to make it to the 2010 battle as well

  • is thier an age limit, cuz im 17, just turned 17, but id love to come and see this, it looks incredible, i play the total war games and all, but to see a real life mideivil battle.....well, id have completed my reason to live

    ^^

  • there isnt an age limit to watch...to participate until you are 18 you will have to have your parents sighn wavers wich most knight marshals cary. you can find a group near you by looking at there website if you are interested just send me a message via youtube and ill gladly share all the info you will need.

  • @insanekillers1232 heavy fighting starts at 18, at age 16-18 most Future heavy fighters start building thier armor and such, no age limit to get into the sca but last I was there you have to be 18 years of age and a member to partake in the fights

  • This looks like it was a blast! My hubby and I are moving to Oklahoma and are hoping to make the journey to the 2010 war. :)

  • It was good to see the baronal guard of the barony of Tir ysgithr punching a big whole into the enemies ranks!! I had the honor of fighting with them at the 1992 Estrella War, Great fun, and great people!

  • it was OLD film ;)~

  • how did you get footage of people in the middle ages?

  • I was sitting at the bottom of the hill taking video of my own and had to scramble to get out of the way! It was amazing being that close to a rushing army. I really like how the "dead" fighters assist in forming the wall so that a hold needn't be called.

  • this looks as large as Pennsic...where is this located? :)

  • Kingdom of Atenveldt. Held just outside of Florence, AZ.

Just come knowing rule number one: Atenveldt always wins!

  • Great video! I swear to God, someday I'm fighting at Estrella. It's 2000 miles away, but what the heck.

  • Thank you! Yes, please make the pilgrimmage. My videos do not do justice to "real" experience. :)
