He visited Ottawa Canada before God put him to rest, He is was my Hero, I was enlisted in the Military as an office because i wanted to protect his ideas,and my people of Tanzania, I shook Hand with him in 1969 when i was a Chipukizi wa TANU and years later i was Commissioned by him as an Office, 2nd Lt in Monduli Arusha, before i went to Sundhurst, GB, Chiliwack and Gage town Canada, I did love Hassan Mwinyi, but mwalimu was and still is my Hero, I cant believe some people talk bad about him

I met Julius Nyerere at the landing-strip on old Geita mine. He was a deeply intelligent & humane man. Some of the selective coverage of Africa is unfair. I learnt Swahili before English, as a small white boy in the bush in nothwestern Tanganyika/Tanzania in the 1950's & 60's. It's the most beautiful language, its speakers the kindest people I know, & hearing it still makes me feel happy. I wrote a book about it, & there's a short video on youtube.
