  • my i phone was water damaged 3 days ago and not working. it is currently in a bag of dry rice? what do i do? buy a new phone? wait? if i need to wait how long?

  • If your Iphone has been subjected to several minutes of water (i.e. running through a clothes wash cycle) your chances of recovering it are next-to-nil. A quick exposure to moisture (i.e. dropping it in the toilet then quickly retrieving it, or spilling some liquid on it) might possibly be mitigated by the rice strategy (or better yet, a few silica salt bags in a sealed Zip-lock with the phone), but chances are you are screwed.

  • dude, my iPhone 3GS had been water damaged since 5 months ago and now i am goin' to put it in the bag of rice, will it still works? I am worried after seeing your comments that the water will rust some part of my iPhone. Pls help me!

  • @Abang5417 After 5 months it's not gonna help. Whatever moisture was in there is gone by now.

  • @iphone4idiots if i re-immerse the phone into a jug of water and then kept it into the bag of rice, will it works?

  • @Abang5417 your silly.

  • @TheBrady1998 Ok.

  • hey, my iPhone4 had dropped in the toilet this morning, I was rushing for school & I turned it off & left it out to dry. When I got home (7 hours later) I put it in a bag of rice. Will putting it in rice still work or no? please help me.

  • I dropped my iphone in the toilet, sometimes the screen can be seem n sometimes it become dark, but it still gt vibration when switch 2 silent mode.Wat happen?

  • @5PSR Sadly, it sounds like it has quite a bit of damage. The water inside the iPhone will likely start to rust some parts and it may quit working at all over time.

  • You can also buy 99% Isopropryl Alcohol ('Rubbing Alcohol' as some call it) and dip your iPhone in there, trust me 100% in this, you'll only end up failing if; the rubbing alcohol you buy is not 99% or atleast 90%.

  • try putting it on the end of a vacuum cleaner hose extender and tap the hose end to the end of your ipod and leave it for an hour .

  • Lol that iPhone sounds like a crap dropping into the toilet

  • nice boxers

  • press 6 for some real action :P

  • where can you get the mexucan song in the beginning its funny

  • Learn all you need to know about how to repair an ipod that has been exposed to water - HowJunction

  • K so I'm doing the rice thing cause I was soaking my foot in Epson salt and I used my phone as a light and bloommp lol I was like mutherfucker!!!! So I hope the rice works

  • soo fake lo :P

  • i washed my iphone with litterwater and soap lol and it turned on but the light is almost dark lol wot to do

  • I dropped min this morning D:

  • i know a few people that has done this and honestly its the best cure, doesnt work allll the time but it is the best. (cheapest)

I like that last part where he drops the soda on his iphone, I'd shit my pants if i did that

  • Indians these days.

  • FAKE!

  • That is probably a dummy iPhone used in the video.

  • Ok.. so my iphone 3 days ago fell into the sink it stopped working I put it in rice for a day it still wouldn't help. I was done for Apple was like nope your phones water damaged pay 199 for a new 3g... so the phone sat around then I decided to plug it in my mac it just started.. Give it time let the water dry out it will start. My phone works now but its still water damaged per say so Apple terminated my warranty.. If its soda or anything other then water your screwed if its sugar.

  • does it matter on the time to whether it works or not cuz i dropped mine in the toilet last night

  • @xXTrendSetterMusicXx The sooner the better. You have nothing to lose. Don't turn it on or do anything with it. Just get it in rice for 24 hours.

  • @iphone4idiots kay thanks i put it in a bag full of jasmine rice hopfully it works

  • @iphone4idiots it didnt work:( my iphone wont even turn on:((

  • @xXTrendSetterMusicXx It can't fix all damaged iPhones, but the rice is the fastest and best way to get water out. Trust me. Try holding the power and home buttons down and then plugging the USB into computer and see if you get a heartbeat. Also, try and charge overnight. If that doesn't work search "water damage" on google and there are places that may be able to fix it but its not cheap. If you got iPhone 3G or iTouch I would consider getting new one.

  • @iphone4idiots lol funny guy

  • @xXTrendSetterMusicXx i did the same last night im trying this now,

  • @xXTrendSetterMusicXx dude just let it dry keep it in rice.. the only benefit to the rice I saw was that the camera fog from the water faded now my phone works perfect camera and all.

  • 1. Throw out that piece of shit

    2. Go buy a real man's phone like C702 or Sonim

    3. Never worry about damaging your phone unintentionally again

  • @aarrcchhoonntt YOU!!!! iPhone`s are the single greatest phone on the surface of the planet! APPLE $ EVAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This has to be one of the stupidest videos on youtube

  • allow ?

  • A little obvious on spilling the cup of water, but I get what you're doing. The article was good.

  • Yeah, I dropped my iPhone in the pool. Wish I knew about the rice thing cause after two weeks it quit charging and died :(

  • Haha, hope there weren't any floaters in that toilet when you stuck your hand in it.
