toucansam3 Meadview is about 100 miles from where I was flying you were near the grand wash cliffs. This is the far west end the boulder basin. Near Boulder City Nevada.
No never. In fact for Fpv'er I know and for myself it is easier 100% including take off and landing. The video is if you are inside aircraft. Besides when you drive you are inside car lol. You may wind up crashing if you take off goggles, because you may become disoriented.
I think this is cool but have some issues and those are...you can njow fly this further than you would normally be able to because there is no need to see the plane anymore. What if Im flying my real plane or tour heli around the area? your as high as I am and could cause a prob. I think you really shoudl think hard about flying 2k and higher over any surface.
Looking into that. So far the tour heli's are far south of where I fly. To the north the commercial airlines. Only in the late afternoon (done flying for me) is when tour heli's leave Hoover dam area. They generally fly over the Lake. Thank you for comment FFred
I completely understand how the resolution on You Tube is substandard. I've been frustrated with that already. Regardless of that your videos are still really good quality. I guess another question I have is, how much would all of this cost...from goggles to receiver and so on?? I did some looking around after your page and only saw the cost of the visers and the various cameras.
XPDNC; future hobbies dot com. contact: wade at future hobbies dot com, tell him I sent you from Vegas. He will get you in the right direction. He will not sell you more then what you need. If you plan to fly distance and hi or just close local so to speak, either way Wade will get you going right. My goggles, and Complete video camera,TX, Diversity RX, all plug and play connections, Li Poly batt pack, two patch high antennas approx $875.00 Initially. .
This is absolutely amazing. I'm completely clueless about your goggles and how all that works, but just from a very superficial look at the onset, I'm very impressed with your video. This looks like the next step for RC videos, for sure.
xpdnc12, The goggles alone with a flight recorder are connected the a receiver, which has an high gain antenna to pick up the transmitter signal of video and audio. The audio is only heard through the goggle headset. The goggles are also for use to watch TV conect to cable box with Composite RCA connections. The two screens combine into one of course. It is like watching a 48" tv at 6 feet away. Color. Hi resolution. On U-Tube not as good as recorded and like. Thank You.
Thanks Wall. Next time I will fly lower. I am taking a chance that if that plane or other I have with camera will dead stick low and into the lake plane goes! lol. I have a set of floats with wheels too. So in case that happens at least I can land in the water. Need my boat on stand by lol.
The Goggles are from futurehobbies. The video actually is better through goggles. I found this a bit out of focus on the camera. Will fix and send another to u tube. thanks 3 r

I was at Lake Mead that weekend near Meadview. I wonder if I saw your plane. I got a real nasty sunburn that weekend, I'll never forget it.

Then I guess I didn't see you. Have you been to the lake recently? Is it down much more? I read an article it may be gone by 2021.

hello!
i´m curios, when you take off with your rc-plane and when you land, do you take off the videoglasses seconds before and after?
or do you start and land with this videoglasses on?

Nice which brand of goggles?
Do they look like the the video or are the darker?
We have some but very hard to see enough to fly FPV only
