neolithic, your arguements have some weak ponits, you are ignoring the background that made bengalis so angry, 1971 did not occur in vacuum,several factors contributed to the gradual widening of gulf between the two wings. The fundamental factor was the difficulty of WP elite to accept Bengalis as equal partners, bengalis were for democracy where access to power should be thru political mobilization instead of military coup and bureaucracy which was the way of WP rulers

neolithic,All kinds of peaceful means to demand our rights and raise the voice were shut down by the WP rulers these grievances were addressed only by bengali leaders also the scenerio in EP and WP were totally different, In WP, every sector including poltical field was dominated by the feudal landlords and military, in EP, political leaders were from educated middle class background and mainly with left leaning ideology, so no political party had overall representation in whole pakistan

and bengalis were the majority of Pakistan,

In 1949, the Basic Principles Committee recommended a federal democracy for the new nation.

The members from Punjab objected that just because of being larger in number, Bengalis should not be allowed to have a dominant position (a similar stand taken by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in 1971 when he stated that the bastions of power are Punjab and Sindh). neolithic, 6 point program was not invented after the election, AL led its election campaign with 6 point program, pak regime did not say anything why did the allow AL to go to election with 6 point ? any objection should have been raised before the election, only after the election, they found it Objectionable , the fact is that before the election, the intelligence report said no party would get overall majority and ultimately army would be in full control, but election result was different

I read good no of books about the war, few of them are by Pakistani writers, Brig A .R Siddiqi, siddiq saliq, hasan zaheer, all of them are pak army officers, these books discuss details about how operation search light was planned, who did what and exactly what happened on 25th mArch night, also says details about how Mujib was arrested
