When she is working hard and fast like this, we hear something once per revolution, like a knock. What might explain that?

It usually seems rather quiet, but it's roaring nicely there.

Hi Andrei, most of the line is at 1:100 gradient, but where it comes into view it levels off for a bit so they take the chance to pick up a bit of speed before then next part of the climb.

Thanks Bob, yes it's a nice location, you get a reasonable warning when the train is coming, steam in the distance, and when the wind is low, as it was, the sound is very clear and carries well.
