The team that wins in a game of football / basketball / baseball / softball / etc. game did so either because (1) they played better or (2) the other team played worse. Cheer squads do not directly influence each others' performances during a contest. I'm sorry to say the unpopular truth, but cheer leading needs to change a few aspects of its contests in order to be considered a sport.

I Love How Gymnastics is a sport, but cheer which is gymnastics with stunts, and cheers, is questioned!

just because it's hard work doesn't mean it's a sport. it's dangerous, yes. but look at it this way. fighting in war is dangerous. are soldiers athletes? no :/ besides, Supreme Court already passed that cheerleading is NOT a sport. it's a fun activity, yes, but not a sport O__o
