evo 9 can make over 300whp with drop in intake and an exhaust sean ivey has made 330whp off a boost controller and injectors added to that. The reason your 5th gear feels like that is because it's awd 4cyl nm top end but cams will solve that srt4's can be quick but evo's are much easier to make power on a budget

Tbe, intake, walboro, mbc, intake, JDM evo bov, o2 housing, upper and lower intercooler pipes. Etc. Even less depending on how skilled your ecu tuner is.

SRT's are loud, very loud actually; BUT, at the second 21 you can actually hear the Evo's engine not yelling like in the lower gears, he started to let off and second 21 is the proof. Nothing better than facts. Mismatch, redo.
The Evo 5th gear is pretty much like an overdrive gear just to let you know, which is why the SRT-4 caught up...notice how low the rpm's go when he shifts into 5th. They become pig slow past 4th gear. EVO ftw.

SRT-4's don't have launch control. Defend your Evos with whatever excuses you can come up with, but a lot of it does come down to the driver. Don't get me wrong, I like Evos a lot. But for half the price, and you can outrace them with no "launch control," you gotta admit that's impressive.

The Evo 5th gear is pretty much like an overdrive gear just to let you know, which is why the SRT-4 caught up...notice how low the rpm's go when he shifts into 5th. They become pig slow past 4th gear. EVO ftw.

This was not a properly organized race! There was no clear and defined start or finish line and it was on the streets where anything can jump out at you from the sidewalks or bushes!!!
That's why you race on the track where it is a proper, organized and not to mention safe environment to do so and not on the streets!!

SRT-4's don't have launch control. Defend your Evos with whatever excuses you can come up with, but a lot of it does come down to the driver. Don't get me wrong, I like Evos a lot. But for half the price, and you can outrace them with no "launch control," you gotta admit that's impressive.

I've beaten many 50 trim and 35r srt4's with my evo. stock turbo. from a roll. I do agree that this particular srt4 beat the evo. evo had him for a while but the fifth gear in the evo's do suck.

alright i have to say. i think the srt won. i own a evo 9 and my best friend has a srt. i think in your case the srt is much faster then that evo b/c a evo from a dig is very powerful and for the srt to catch like that is amazing. oh and another thing the evo never let off. thay just have a very very week 5 gear. what was the race til about 120?? cause that would put the srt in the peak of 4 gear explaining why you pulled... good stuff

this could go either way. I own an SRT-4 and I usually have issues getting off the line but once the tires hook i catch up and usually win. Mine is dyno-ed at 300 whp. (if you are using the stock turbo on the SRT then I DOUBT you won)

Id love to come across a lot of you evos with my srt-4, i dont think you realize that they are also very easy to mod up to 500hp on stock motor. Yes you can do that also but for the price the srt-4 is going to be faster. Yes you have awd and a better built car, but sorry its not as fast

Listen first off that ready set go was stupid thats number one number two the evo let number three I have a bolt on evo no meth no bigger turbo my friend has a 60trim turbo and we were neck and neck and he was break boosting we let off at 140 so dont tell me that the neon has top end.
