  • Is that Jar Jar?

  • Only bad one I've seen from the show

  • This guy has as much talent as the Welsh language has vowels...

  • All you need, manwaddle methyl glachben wach bell from a store or smith. Alloweth branny bran mowee show you first, sann bennyweth, the swan!

  • @totalgeeta Is this really welsh?

  • This made me laugh so hard, I've no idea why!

  • I keep trying to do the Swan, and I just can't manage to get it right.

  • @Mirrorboy17

Try the dolphin first, it's an easier pattern... If you know how to use a MAPP-Oxy torch.

  • turn on transcribe audio :)

  • FYI this is absolutely nothing like Welsh... except for the sense of humor!!!

  • ethylfan

  • Somtimes I switch on the Welsh speaking TV channe on Sky, I can't remember it's exact name, and the programs are literally like this, it makes your head melt!

  • 9 people brambawi couldnt fold bennyweth a swan

  • genuinely brilliant. " there is his coussiiinnsss " .

  • It's worrying that his pronounciation is better than most people I know who try to speak Welsh

  • @burr5836 any who can pronounce Welsh to at least this level makes it sound like the beautiful language it is, even if they are just spouting random gibberish.

  • James is a pretty good guitarist

  • That's actually quite a cool metaphor, it's like symbolising the swan is a free bird

  • This guy is so much better than martha stewart

  • Frankly, regional TV here in the States is just as ridiculous...too cute!

  • always wondered what Pobol Y Cwm was like :p

  • Yeah, this is exactly what Welsh regional TV is like, I'm not even joking. It's mind-numbing.

  • 1:49

    Picking randa frond, ah.

  • 1:48

  • @yju135 Lol,

  • LMAO he sounds like the nigerian voice from fonejacker at 'see, there are his cousins'

  • I am glad they finally took notice of me!

  • why didn't they continue padlockigami? are you being serious? LOL

  • I hope you had a safe whhheek

  • am i drugs?

  • All Welsh TV is exactly like this. It's so accurate, it's not even a parody!

    :O

  • just to be a complete tosser, it should be ori-padlock

  • he sounds like a welsh robert robinson.

  • im welsh and i just find the jibberish and accent fricking hilarious

  • I so love this sketch.

  • Love bachmans little nod at the end...

  • ethylfan

    jam

  • I wish this was a recurring sketch

  • Jam!

  • This is Python. One cannot bestow a higher accolade.

  • you sure it's not meant to be Swedish?

  • You can make a Caterpillar using Padlockigami

  • The point was there was only 1 thing they could produce through the ancient druidic art of "padlockigami"- "the Swan".

The way he said the line "There is his cousins" sounded like a modern rendition of Chaucerian English than Welsh accented English.

  • methwelliefanny! jam.

  • haha, thats well good, :D allthough he doesnt sound very welsh

  • I cannot understand a word he's saying...

I've read in the comments that it's an exaggerated welsh accent, but what is the welsh accent anyway?

  • @Jacobiskoby37 Sounds just like this!

  • I assumed this is sort of a parody of a welsh show.

    Is it?

What show is it? i've been trying to find this out for a while now.

  • @iMandie I think it just parodies the kind of generic crap that's shown on the welsh regional channel "S4C".

  • That was fucking hilarious.

  • he sounds thai

  • shocking welsh accent, sounded more like the ugandan off fonejacker.

and before you try to contradict me, i lived in wales for 2 years.

  • Deliberate you goon!

  • I really don't think the sketch was to demonstrate his talent with Welsh accents, more to take the piss through exaggeration and mockery.

But that's just me, I take it as 'comedy'.

  • @hcasperk baaah

  • padlockigami = padlock + origami ;o)

  • @blitzablitza

And somehow more amusingly, sounds like polygamy :)

  • This is sooo good. It's like he's a Welsh person who speaks Welsh so much he's forgotten how to speak English properly. xD

  • was that in Welsh?

  • makey uppy welshy

  • I speak Welsh and I had no idea what was going on until I read your comments xD I thought it was South African or something. It's funny, but needs more spitting :P

  • jam

  • pure genoius, man!

  • It must be hard to keep that voice up

  • that was about the most hilarious thing i have ever seen, his welsh impression is amazing.

  • lol..id buy that from him, they are so cute in their little pond : D

  • totally =D

  • and here's a sunny beth-weth THe SWAN!!!

  • fanny jam, i lol'd

  • Leaving them all getting on together there.

    LOL.

  • frambowi beniweth

  • What the hell does that even mean? :)

  • ethylfan...

  • they shouldve done another one of these - maybe a padlockigami handbag.....

  • The conjoined twin

    The letter "D"

    The...oh, that's it.

  • Jam

  • I love his hair here. I laughed. This guys honestly make me luagh out loud, which I don't tend to do when I'm by myself, but these guys do.

  • i speak welsh and this is hilarious, he's not actually saying anything

  • ehtylfan.

  • I have no idea whatsoever what he's talking about but its hilarious!

  • ... ehtylfan...

  • Beth welly fanny, jam.

    1:42

  • That little display of padlock swans and flowers is strangely aesthetically pleasing XD

  • Scketleneck my favorite eusgh lo frough video ever!

  • i learned Padlockigami in school! its sooo cool

  • the absolute funniest thing i have ever seen.

  • I've sen this dozens of times, and i still wonder how i manage to not pee in my pants...

  • "Fading away on all sorts of bonny bethey..."

  • this sketch reminds me of a gaelic programme the bbc used to show in scotland called dotaman :-)

  • Odd David Mitchell didn't do this - his mother is from Wales.

  • lol it's not realy welsh its just gibberish with an accent

    still funnt though

  • Yeah, I realise that ... I was born in Wales.

  • Exactly what monty Python's funniest joke in the world was:

    Wenn, ist das nallsthook

    git und slaughtermeier

ja! Fyrhuunt! das oder der flippervalt

    gesphoot.

(sound of 20 german speaking soldiers dying from laughter)

  • Webb has that certain tone to imitate a children's show host in that airheaded way. Mitchell sounds too sinister or whiny if he speaks softly.

  • Bethwely fanny.....jam, I was doubled when I first saw this. Class ;)

  • looks and sounds more South Affrican than welsh

  • i watched this when it first came out, im a welsh speaker and i was crying laughing

    fair play.... Class

  • Yes it's a piss take of Welsh kids tv. Just watch S4C on satellite, its a real phlegm-fest.

  • ooooooh so he's speaking welsh! that'd be good information to have going into this clip

  • Love it. S4C used to be full of this sort of thing. I must say that the pseudowelsh phonology sounds a lot closer to the real thing than lots of other attempts.

    Branbawi metholweth allanbethol padlockigami :)

  • I am Welsh and I had no idea he was trying to do Welsh, but now I know, I can kind of see it haha.

  • "See? There is his cousins!" I love this show.

  • Very nice! However, perhaps it would have been funnier if they said "4. The Swan", it would then make you wonder what other 3 things they had created using a padlock.

  • Yeah. That would have been even funnier. :)

  • @Nezwart Probably would have gotten in the way of the whole collection of swans joke. The pun was that you can't make anything else than a swan, so it would have to be either their joke or yours.

  • It's meant to be nostalgic really. Folk guitars and crafts shows and Welsh language programming are all very childhoody. And the word "padlockigami" just sounds better with a Welsh accent.

  • Yeah. I don't think it's anti-Welsh. Just fun, and possibly taking the mickey out of crap regional TV.

I just find Webb's silly overblown accent very funny.

  • @Nezwart Im Welsh and I love Mitchell and Webb, so frikking funny, my whole family found this hilarious, hes not really saying anything in Welsh lol but it does sound like it

  • i dont really get it

  • I believe they're making of Welsh folk crafts.
