Don't see what people like about this, it's just not good in any way. Im british but I love american trucks and america, this is just absolute rubbish. Don't try and make a british version of an american classic, just can't do it.
Lol....like Heat 000 I too bought this single when it can out. I don't know what possessed me to think about it today but I just looked on here out of curiousity...Ah British humour!!
Fuzzboxes i used to know them as jam sandwiches(police cars) love this version also like the original ...you gotta laugh rubber duck 10-4.I remember those cb days of years ago well, it was a laugh.
my dad used to drive a scammell. when i was a lad i would run home from junior school to get a lift back to his works, which was all of 2 miles away. but i loved it lol grat memories
From what I can remember this was by Laurie Lingo & The Dipsticks, who were actually two BBC Radio One DJs in the mid 70s -- Dave Lee Travis & Paul Burnett. This single charted in the UK top five.
actually this guy has sung/talked over the top of an english piss take of the origanal song that was released in the u.k some 5 yrs after the origanal, give him some credit tho as l connot find the original u.k. piss take version of the song at all, hats off!!lol!
put nobody talks on the cb any more to busy trying to impress the transport manager how fast thy can do the job or they are poles watching a how to be a hgv driver dvd
U.S. Friend here. That was awesome. I grew up with C.W. McCall's "Convoy", so this was definitely something different. (Afraid I don't know much about the trucking industry in the UK, however.) Good Job!
i used my dads midland am/fm cb radio which he had in his biege mark 3 cortina which had a brown vinyl roof(of course) cant remember what the stick was but it was stuck to the roof with a magnet, and my handle was spiderman!! i was six when this came out,in the stinkin hot summer of 76....ahhhh memories!!!
Ive been trying to find this for years, brilliantly put together, and just for the record id rather have DLT than the incessant drivel on radio 1 now.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Post nicely assembled but a fuckin' AWFUL record performed by two knobs - Paul Burnett & DLT ; the gruff 'scouse' voice being DLT though hes from Buxton,Derbyshire. These two talentless pratts 'ruled' the radio one airwawes throughout the '70s conning the 'stiff shirts' of the 'good ole B.B.C.' that they were talented ; the management didnt have a clue of course as they continued to hire & pay handsomely other talentless crettins e.g. Gary Davies,Mike Smith,Andy Peebles etc.etc. ALL sounded alike
Hey fig , chill out man - you are 45 yourself - probably older than they were !. Anyway nothings changed - we now have the likes of Jo Whiley who`s up her own arse and is in her mid 40`s thinking she`s one of the kids so what`s changed ?
your a rude nasty person that kind of language is not called for we hear in the street and on the tv i object to reading it as well so do one and dont comment unless its civl
@kenfig well said Ken .. on the nail ..and as the re-runs of Top of the Pops show visually what an utter a-hole DLT was and why punk came along and wiped the smugness off their faces... Game Over I am recording all the re-runs of TOTP and this song has just ruined the latest episode of great talent by having this bearded twat stuck right in the middle...its embarrassing to watch and I feel embarrassed for him ... I hope any money he receives from repeats is donated to a worthy cause
Well put together. I remember this in the charts, recorded by 'Laurie Lingo and the Dipsticks', who were really 2 of BBC Radio's DJs - Dave Lee Travis and Paul Burnett. Excellent
lmao!!! this is epic....I loved the movie, and i drive a coach for a living...great humor!
