me and my sis had a talk about this and they already remade 1-4 next is 5 after 13 versus then 14 then a remake of 6 then probably a 14-2 and/or another game similar and THEN the game we have all wanted to be remade Final Fantasy 7 remake i predict it will be out in stores September 7 2018 that will be the games 20th anniversary and i bet that no matter what they say they are secretly working on it right now im glad its coming out in 6 years i know the remake will be perfected to the best ever:)

A remake of this game would be a dream come dream. I think for the remake though square-enix should add more games at the gold saucer and more chocobo types and more hidden bosses and more weapons and more materia and a extra town for more side quests. That would make me happy instead of ff13-2

a remake wouldnt be as easy as you guys make it seem, it would have to be reDONE. best example would be world travel, on ps1 you could get away with cloud running around the size of a village but nowadays with ps3 graphics it just wont work. dialogue is also terribly outdated and have to be redone

If there's a "Sims" and "Grand Theft Auto" game created every year, I'm pretty sure it's not hard to remake such an epic game like FF7. SE say that it's because the world of FF7 is so big, they won't be able to remake it because it'll take alot of years to finish. LIES! They made this in no time, I'm sure. They put out an FF spin-off and game every year, when other things are in demand from fans. I have not yet to see a KH3 either. But we have tons of unnecessary prequels and side stories.
They probably will make (mabey) a FF7 remake. Have you noticed that FF1-4 have all been remade in some form or another, and I'm sure 5 and 6 MAY get DS (or PSP since Square has taken a liking to the PSP) remakes aswell. The remaking may stop at the GBA versions of Final fantasy, or they MAY go up to like 9. Who knows, mabey it'll happen, mabey not.

@smoochym if only it was that simple, the lead producer of ff13 said the reason the game was so linear is because of the graphics, basically he said that because we incooperated such high quality graphics it was very difficult to create towns etc that the game was missing because it would just take too much time, i agree with you they should make it but honestly the amount of work that would need to be done.... it will be the first game of its kind and would probably take 5+ years to make

His red fur makes him extremely difficult and costly to animate that's why he had the least screen time in Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children think of how much it would cost them to animate him for the whole game alone

Tetsuya Nomura (the head of all things FF ever since 7, & definitely the man who would lead such a project) has said it would take a team of 300 people 5 yrs to remake FF7 at the level of that tech demo (That's 50% more people for the same amount of time that it took to make FF12), & would require the cancellation of at least a half-dozen other games to get the necessary people involved. They say theres no financial sense 4 them to ever do it.
Remake won't happen. I personally would LOVE to see a FF7 remake. Also Nobuo Uematsu would have to be involved without question, or it would be a failure.

I personally think that Square is too nervous that a remake of FF7 could break them. Everyone holds FF7 on a pedestal. If Square came out with a remake that fans didn't like..... it could destroy their company and their reputation. They're nervous.

I hear ya :) And it sounds simple enough I agree. BUT, I have a strong feeling that Square would try to make "improvements" which would actually end up being fails. I have a strong hunch Square would try to make the game linear and avoid a world map walk around. They (Square) would change the soundtrack and some storyline in hopes of trying to modernize and would end up into a massive fail. Nobuo Uematsu might not be involved, and fans would become angry rather than happy.
Its such an awesome simple idea to remake the beautiful work of art that FF7 is, but corporations ALWAYS seem to mess things up like that. Instead of just enhancing it like you suggest ( which is what Square SHOULD do), they would probably just ruin it. Big Wigs on the top will try for what THEY think will sell. Seen it over and over again with corporations.
I haven't seen Square do a game with a world map random battle system in ages. Since FF12, I have little faith in Square.
I do hope square remakes it the right way someday. I think they are nervous because they know that they will implement changes. The original FF7 made square REALLY known and is a "put on a pedestal" game by the public. Too much is at stake for them in their eyes.

I agree with you and I hope a remake does happen someday. I think it would be in squares best interest to, and the underlying reason as to what you said about after ff13.......To me it seems that square spends more time on graphics now than content. For example the character development in ff10 I think was pure awesome. But the character development in ff12 and ff13 was HORRIBLE and extremely lacking. Also, losing Nobou Uematsu as the games lead composer was such a huge loss. Huge.
No wonder, because every single time they release a game there's the sound of 10,000 noobs crying that it's not as good as FFVII. They literally expect SE to make the same game over, and over, and over again. It's ridiculous.

I think square knows. I think they are afraid of people losing intrest in it as it progresses as a project. Alot of say we wouldn't which may be true but it will still remain a fear. If a remake happens, I personally would like the story and gameplay to remain the same (with a few new touches to the battle system, or more materia. I hope they don't change the battle system like they did with 12) just re-do the graphics and scenery and maybe some voice acting
I've played most of the Final Fantasy series, going back to SNES versions, PS1 versions, and FF12 for PS2. 7 was the best, but the battle system in12 is so much better with the gambits and all. I'd like to see a remake of 7 but with the battle system of 12.

IF they put motion sensor shit with final fantasy 7 if it ever comes out which there doing with everything lately ill slit my wrists, because motion sensor bullshit is ruining games. Fucking Wii had to ruin it for everyone. I wanna relax and chill when I come home after work. Not play fake dogeball and shit. I save that for the weekend. It would mate, it'd take them years to transform this huge game into modern 3d graphics. The makers said around 8 years if they had the resources, to do it properly. Which is a perfectly valid reason.

Why doesnt anyone understand palin english?? Square has already officially said that there will not be a ff7 remake. Move on. The excuse that they dont have the resources is bull. The code for the game, teh characters, battle system, and everything else already exists in finished form. All they would have to do is update the graphics. A year at most. Square is simply teasing you in order to keep you interested in its other new games.

@smoochym if only it was that simple, the lead producer of ff13 said the reason the game was so linear is because of the graphics, basically he said that because we incooperated such high quality graphics it was very difficult to create towns etc that the game was missing because it would just take too much time, i agree with you they should make it but honestly the amount of work that would need to be done.... it will be the first game of its kind and would probably take 5+ years to make

@smoochym you left out one thing, money I guess whoever said ignorance is a bliss has obviously never met you reason why this game's likely going to be remade is cause of Red XIII aka Nanaki. His red fur makes him extremely difficult and costly to animate that's why he had the least screen time in Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children think of how much it would cost them to animate him for the whole game alone

Ok lets break it down.
World map would have to be rendered completely in 3D so no they don't have that.
Concept art? The art that was used for a 32 bit game is inadmissible.
The story and dialogue would have to be revamped. It was made to be read and read only back then, not heard.
They have to render each NPC in HD and do it traditionally for the nostalgia guys.
I'd say more but no more characters left.

Tetsuya Nomura (the head of all things FF ever since 7, & definitely the man who would lead such a project) has said it would take a team of 300 people 5 yrs to remake FF7 at the level of that tech demo (That's 50% more people for the same amount of time that it took to make FF12), & would require the cancellation of at least a half-dozen other games to get the necessary people involved. They say theres no financial sense 4 them to ever do it.
BS!! It would be worth it. Square is just scared.

Remake won't happen. I personally would LOVE to see a FF7 remake. Also Nobuo Uematsu would have to be involved without question, or it would be a failure.
Aside from my wishes and countless petitions I have signed, I don't think it will ever happen.
I personally think that Square is too nervous that a remake of FF7 could break them. Everyone holds FF7 on a pedestal. If Square came out with a remake that fans didn't like..... it could destroy their company and their reputation. They're nervous.

I hear ya :) And it sounds simple enough I agree. BUT, I have a strong feeling that Square would try to make "improvements" which would actually end up being fails. I have a strong hunch Square would try to make the game linear and avoid a world map walk around. They (Square) would change the soundtrack and some storyline in hopes of trying to modernize and would end up into a massive fail. Nobuo Uematsu might not be involved, and fans would become angry rather than happy.

Its such an awesome simple idea to remake the beautiful work of art that FF7 is, but corporations ALWAYS seem to mess things up like that. Instead of just enhancing it like you suggest ( which is what Square SHOULD do), they would probably just ruin it. Big Wigs on the top will try for what THEY think will sell. Seen it over and over again with corporations.
I haven't seen Square do a game with a world map random battle system in ages. Since FF12, I have little faith in Square.

I do hope square remakes it the right way someday. I think they are nervous because they know that they will implement changes. The original FF7 made square REALLY known and is a "put on a pedestal" game by the public. Too much is at stake for them in their eyes.
Personally, I think they are fools for not remaking it since its their best selling game of all time. But, I think they're scared because they know that they would mess it up and be discredited.

@finaltits i agree but it makes sense, most people who like FF really like FF7 and at times people only do like FF7. When i think final fantasy i think FF7 simple. They know its a huge success and people will notice if simple things are out of place or changed something the people didnt like. and pretty much as you said ruin the reputation they have now. I say not remaking it would be safe for them even if i do want a remake myself.

I agree with you and I hope a remake does happen someday. I think it would be in squares best interest to, and the underlying reason as to what you said about after ff13.......To me it seems that square spends more time on graphics now than content. For example the character development in ff10 I think was pure awesome. But the character development in ff12 and ff13 was HORRIBLE and extremely lacking. Also, losing Nobou Uematsu as the games lead composer was such a huge loss. Huge.

I think square knows. I think they are afraid of people losing intrest in it as it progresses as a project. Alot of say we wouldn't which may be true but it will still remain a fear. I would rather Square not risk money. I would love to ff7 remake though. A petition could work. Maybe. If some one wants to set up a website and get some advertising going we could probablly work something out.

If a remake happens, I personally would like the story and gameplay to remain the same (with a few new touches to the battle system, or more materia. I hope they don't change the battle system like they did with 12) just re-do the graphics and scenery and maybe some voice acting

I've played most of the Final Fantasy series, going back to SNES versions, PS1 versions, and FF12 for PS2. 7 was the best, but the battle system in12 is so much better with the gambits and all. I'd like to see a remake of 7 but with the battle system of 12.

Okay for a second I thought that this was just what was seen off of Crisis Core and I almost got POd when I saw Cloud jump off the train. Then I was happy again because that was not seen ^_^
Anyhow I SOOOOOO support the remake of FF7!!! It has awesome graphics for it's prequel and its movie (I haven't played the games after it so I am not going to say anything for them ) so I believe the original DESERVES to be updated! I love the final fantasy series! Keep it up guys!
