It was depressing to see the 70's and down oldsmobiles mangled but the newer ones didn't bother me, the 80's cutlass's put a smile on my face since i hate them with passion i had one go up in flames on me, my 2nd and 3rd cars were both delta 88 4dr sedans with 455's with carter 2g's one was a '70 the other was a '69
I have a 72 cutlass with the gold rocket was trying to restore but my money lo so im trying to sale < it have new bumbers new grill new windows new vinal top new fenders <no inside runs great 3000$ email is bee_one_ent@yahoo.com
@speedy011189 I'm sure they're prettier than anything you own.
A smallblock olds(400 ci) with batten/olds heads will take a (426) hemi. There are many other comparisions that put an Olds on top - I suggest you learn alittle more.
makes me remember the 71 Cutlass Supreme Grandma totaled in 87 - had the vented hood and rally rims...beauty. Also Mom's 71 Delta '88 with the 455 Rocket, man that would be a great ride now!
iF I SHOWED A PHOTO OF THE 70 OLDS 88 I WRECKED IN AT 115MPH YOU WOULD WONDER HOW IN THE WORLD AM I STILL HERE ON THIS GOD FORSAKEN EARTH....CAUSE THAT BIG OLDS SAVED MY ASS!
@willem01 Well I do have to agree with you cause I do believe that only God can give or take life. But being surrounded in that 70's model Olds didn't hurt. When I came to a stop I never was in such darkness or have I ever experienced such quietness. When the accident was in force I did yell out "God I don't want to die!" I actually called out "God are you there?" Cause I did not know whether I was dead or alive. I start feeling my face, hands, parts of the car, etc. We all need God more in life.
@willem01 I was 17 then. There's not enough room here to tell the story the way things actually happened but it's quite a story. One thing I never did that I always wanted to (but got involved with school then moved away)was talk to the Troopers who were at the scene cause they actually had tears in their eyes after seeing I was alive. See there was an accident there before me and that's why they were there and witnessed what they knew was going to be a "fatality". They most likely are dead now.
depends on who did the work. do it yourself? 10 grand? i know its expensive just to straighten the chassis, plus new body panels, new bumper, body filler, prob new glass, weather stripping... paint would be upwards of 2-3 grand... the list goes on
I found a wrecked 1970 cutlass 4 door 350 single barrel v8 that was barely alive when i found it. I'm a oldsmobile fan, so i decided to buy it for 1500, and now it is a okayish car, with +$10000 dollars in repairs and still not fully repaired. Long live oldsmobile! :)
I cried at all those '60's, '70's and '80's RWD Oldsmobiles. I couldn't believe my eyes at 0:48! That looked to be a '58 Olds being fed to the crusher... those cars are very rare nowdays...sniffle...
That's the part that broke my heart - it's actually a '57 Olds that's being fed to the crusher.
The tree that fell on the '72 Cutlass also broke my heart.
It also broke my heart to part with my rust-bucket '59 Olds 98 Holiday SportSedan back in 1998.
Fortunately, I'm slowly restoring the 3rd '69 Vista Cruiser that I've owned since 1982. Thank God there were no Vistas in this video, or I would be in tears.
I also owned a '80 Cutlass coupe that a previous owner changed from a diesel to a 350.
Oh wow, this video really hurt me, the only Oldsmobiles I care about are the musclecar era 1964-72 Cutlass, the 80-87 Cutlass supremes, those are genuine Musclecars that deserve to be rebuilt into the Hot Rods they were designed to be, I don't care too much for the late model, smog era mid 80's to mid 90's front wheel drive 4 & 6 cylinder cars, cuz GM made those to compete with the Toyota & Honda imports & GM sucked at those cars, they were a problem, GM should've stayed to their musclecar roots
you got to hate it when these cars end up like this.i dont suppose anyone knows of any 1969 442 hardtops that may need help and are for sale do you guys. its my all time favorite car and if any of you know where there is one for sale please tell me. doesn't matter if its a junker or not I just really want a 69 442 hard top. Thats my dream machine!
UGhh. I guess it makes my 66 425 and 70 455 more valuable as time goes on and people forget about Olds. I see GM struggle and talk merger with dodge. I think it serves them right for keeping Saturn and killing OLDS. If they had some new Olds cars instead of the same car different look the Olds would have sold more than 300,000 in its last year. IF Gm would bring Olds back..they would sale more cars than buying dodge! I would buy one.
Just as sad as part #1, 1:30 looks like one of mine, Seeing that W-30 hood lying in the scrap makes me feel like "Bluto" in Animal House when they tripped and dropped their case of booze.
ahh it is depressing my first car to was an oldsmobile a 1973 olds 98 with all options and a 455 rocket very fast mine also had the government package ordered through the dealer passenger air bag
I also had a 73 olds 98 with the 455 rocket it was a 4 door with all options when i was in highschool I could fit 8 to 10 friends in that car and still have room only thing I didnt like was getting about 10 mpg
Got some oldsmobiles, got a 1970 cutlass two door sedan with 50,000 miles, and this old fart also has a 1970 olds 442 convertible with a 4 speed and 3:91 gear with that thar, ya know that, uh W-30 option..............
im glad I didnt see any 78 or 79 Delta 88s in this video.. thats what I own. I do remember back in college when I had another 78 Delta 88 and I was rear ended by a Chevy van. I cried.
No.....n.. it cant be true it just cant be she was my baby... i just..just cant walk away she looks so peaceful even though her breaks are dangling and her driveshaft is cut and her schocks are busted *SNIFF* *SNIFF*
I love oldsmobiles. 1965 to 1983 cutlasses and deltas and 98s. I love their looks, sounds. How they sound when cranking. I love seeing them being driven by woman. Messed up. Some of these cars should be restored like the last one.
