They don't like being bothered. BTW they are very aggressive dogs too, they don't bother you unless you invade their space. My dog is kind of like that. He was a rescue chihuahua and sometimes he gets agressive like that. Such as if you hold a soda can near him or get too playful with him and especially if you try to correct something he has done such as go potty in the house or get into the garbage he will start screaming and trying to bite you it's crazy but 95% of the time he is good just don't tick him off lol.

It's not so much where you decide to set the line; the line depends on how educated the owner is on behavior. Some correct their dog when it barks at the door, but that's not aggression. It's letting people know it is its house and they're home. Any dog will cross a line if the owner doesn't draw it.

They're little but still need to be properly trained, disciplined, and not treated like spoiled children. Just because it's notorious for the breed does not make it absolute that it will happen. Allowing them on furniture doesn't mean they are poorly trained; there is no one correct training method.
